This has been mine for a while. Almost bought it but I went with a CORE and an RMR instead.

Eventually I will get around to it.

I hate you! I would love to own a short barreled revolver like that id prefer both a .357 and 44 mag with 3 inch bbls.

That is a fat homely package..... But that is what people say about one of my edc's and I still like it.

my dad picked up one last year and he LOVES it.
i was able to take it to the range this last spring time with him and i must admit it is by far the nicest wheel gun ive ever shot.

the gun is like butter on a hot day!
and soooooo light!

if i had $1500 burning a hole in my pocket id pick one up in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous Smith id64. If I had unlimited funds and storage space I'd get one right away. The only thing I don't like is the rail. I'm prejudiced against rails.

Enjoy!

Very interesting revolver, thanks for posting.
Since it holds two more rounds in the cylinder it moves less to cycle the next round so is the d/a pull shorter than the 686?

Cool piece. Went back and looked at your pics; didn`t realize this was a Performance Center gun. I think this would be on my "never sell" list!

I had a 627 and still have the 586; no big difference in trigger pull. While the 627 might be a bit shorter (mayyyybe) it has to rotate a heavier mass (bigger cylinder and 2 extra rounds).

The thing with N frame is that you really have to have big-ish hands to use them in DA. I tried changing grips and all but still could not get comfortable with the 627. The 586, especially with an action job, is super sweet and fits (me) perfectly.
