Some of you guys are very funny, but in reality the sks is still junk. I really enjoy reading the responses from those who buy these little commie crappola guns and then get all hurty inside when I point out that the rifle is junk.
I look at my *main* rifles- I have about 4-5 of them- They all come in wiht a pricetag of $2000-$4000 (opitics and mounts included)
They all do for me what I ask of them. And they all do what they do *as advertised* so to speak.
The SKS does the same, It is *as advertised* it does *what I expect it to do*
It is fun, it is cheap, it digests piles and piles of cheap ammo without a hiccup, it is just as accurate as many SMLES's with iron sights, it is (in my experience) more accurate than the Mini 14...
It's only JUNK if it is misrepresented to you. 303 Carbine has expressed that he woudl prefer a 710 over a SKS. The 710 is a LIE. It says "I am a great rifle for the budget conscious hunter, it's accurate, it's all you need, and it comes wiht a super duper bore sighted scope- It's all you need to become a hunter!!" .....well, fine, if you like your hunitng rifle to be unreliable.
The SKS says "I am a milsurp rifle, built by a big factory. I will keep shooitng as long as you pull the trigger. My accuracy isnt great, but I will kill to 150 yards, easy. After that, you better knwo what you are doing"
About 2 years ago, I posted info about handloadeding with a SKS and made a ten shot group of about 5" ?(can't remeber exaxtrly)at 200 yards. I woudl scoff at that with my bolt guns, but the fact is, I woudl have kileld a deer with that accuracy...
The funny thing is, noone feels all "hurty inside" as 303 carbine suggests. Actually, noone really cares about his opinion, since it appears to be based on delusion and perhaps ###ual frustration, rather than fact.
