my experience with the sks rifle

sks

Some of you guys are very funny, but in reality the sks is still junk. I really enjoy reading the responses from those who buy these little commie crappola guns and then get all hurty inside when I point out that the rifle is junk.:D

My wifes chicom SKS (threaded barrel, real milsurp), shoots great. Infact it will knock the rams over at 500m an average of one ram for every two shots with the iron sights. At 100m it groups on averge about 2" and I've seen alot worse from alot more expensive rifles. There is nothing wrong with the basic design.

Now, what I really find funny, is the identity you have on this board with most members is the guy who dumps on SKS's for attention. :)

I'd bet if you ask most board members here if they know of .303carbine... "Hmm... oh wait, yeah that odd bird that's got such a hate on for the SKS right?"

I'm afraid the majority is against you, you are one against thousands that are using them with great success. This leads to the conclusion the issue is with you bud. :) You're kinda like that questionably sane guy outside McDonalds frantically trying to hand out pamphlets about what's really in the food. Unfortunately the stuff gets the job done, and in the end people don't hear you anymore and just walk right by. ;)

Enjoy using mine for the range and of course for the occasional beaver. If it falls in the water while tearing apart the dam, oh well

.303 carbine, now that's a piece of junk

I look at my *main* rifles- I have about 4-5 of them- They all come in wiht a pricetag of $2000-$4000 (opitics and mounts included)

They all do for me what I ask of them. And they all do what they do *as advertised* so to speak.

The SKS does the same, It is *as advertised* it does *what I expect it to do*

It is fun, it is cheap, it digests piles and piles of cheap ammo without a hiccup, it is just as accurate as many SMLES's with iron sights, it is (in my experience) more accurate than the Mini 14...

It's only JUNK if it is misrepresented to you. 303 Carbine has expressed that he woudl prefer a 710 over a SKS. The 710 is a LIE. It says "I am a great rifle for the budget conscious hunter, it's accurate, it's all you need, and it comes wiht a super duper bore sighted scope- It's all you need to become a hunter!!" .....well, fine, if you like your hunitng rifle to be unreliable.

The SKS says "I am a milsurp rifle, built by a big factory. I will keep shooitng as long as you pull the trigger. My accuracy isnt great, but I will kill to 150 yards, easy. After that, you better knwo what you are doing"

About 2 years ago, I posted info about handloadeding with a SKS and made a ten shot group of about 5" ?(can't remeber exaxtrly)at 200 yards. I woudl scoff at that with my bolt guns, but the fact is, I woudl have kileld a deer with that accuracy...

The funny thing is, noone feels all "hurty inside" as 303 carbine suggests. Actually, noone really cares about his opinion, since it appears to be based on delusion and perhaps ###ual frustration, rather than fact.;)

First time out with mine...2 flyer's while I got used to the Iron sights, trigger, stock, etc, and the next 3 shots clearly does the trick.
This is off hand shooting without a sling btw, and the range is 100 yards with Czech FMJ surplus.

IMHO to me this is a pretty good hunting rifle for the Vancouver Island brush within 150 yards. With some hand loaded ammo, and a Russian POSP sight with it's built in bullet drop range finder this rifle would really shine, and still price out all tricked out for well under $300.00.

If you truly have SKS's to destroy, then hand them over to those that can appreciate them, and get use out of them.
As right now you are sounding no better then the UN gun grabbers with their rifle burn piles.

I'm afraid logic falls on deaf ears here gentleman, 303carbine's gone so far as to start creating threads just to reap the attention. There's no way he could rescind his asinine argument this far in without loosing face, it's his bloody identity.

This is literally the crazy outside of McDick's with the pamphlets syndrome; we become desensitized to the BS, so what does he do, shout louder. Or, in this case, post a troll thread just to get a rise. Just look at how he worded the thread, literally 100% attention seeking. Ignore the BS, and be done with it.

WTF???

Skating on very thin ice with this thread 303.
