My Fabarm is in (PICS!)

What about taping the inside of the slide instead? That looks kinda ghey on the receiver. ;)

Mine just came in, its the martial tactical (sans pistol grip) This sure is a sweet piece of kit!!!

I was playing with the pump a bit and there is already a few marks on the reciever from it, no biggie though. I find the forend very comfortable to use as I have pretty short arms and I dont have to extend them very much. This thing kicks the valtros ass!

exactly what i thought

"It puts the lotion in the basket and it does what it's told!"

Becaaaaause, then the aluminum tape would rub against the receiver.

Anyways, took it to the range today. 15 slugs & 2 boxes of shot later, I must say. I FREAK'N LOVE this shotgun. :D

Also had a chance to try out the full choke. These targets are @ 20 yards.

target 3 (shot a bit high on this one)

After setting the sights (which were about 6 inches high at 20 yards! ) they rock. Check this vid of a 50 yard hit of a 2L bottle. : slug-50yrds

A pic of the damage:

Here is a water bottle @ 20 yards:

how are you liking it compared to your hp9er?

No comparison. Leaps and bounds a head of the HP9-1 in terms of fit and finish. More comfortable to shoot, super smooth action, and those sights! Very accurate with slugs! :D I'll still be keeping the HP9-1 though... gonna refinish it and put a Knoxx breechers stock on it!

How bad does it actually rub against the receiver? Does it rub against it every time? Can you hear an obvious rubbing sound? Does the slide jiggle side to side quite a bit? Jus wonderin. That seems to be the only turn off I have heard so far.

You dont feel or hear anything, the plastic foregrip just blemishes the paint as it rubs. Although, I can see slight hints of bare metal starting to show so I decided to put some black electrical tape on the inside of the forearm where it rubs to lessen the effects.

Does it rub on both sides of the receiver about the same? Or is it a one sided thing depending on how you rack it back?

I guess what I b asking... is it guaranteed to rub EVERY time regardless if you pull the slide back perfectly straight/parallel or not?

The rubbing is very slight. I'm probably (I am) being overly cautious and anal. I like to take good care of my guns.

You don't feel or hear anything, and there is no rattle. If there was nothing I could do about it, or if the "problem" was ten times worse, I'd still get one.

:D :D your funny :D :D

Its even on both sides Id say...just get one already!!!

I got mine in the mail a couple days ago. This is one very, very sweet shotgun. I'm very pleased. I haven't noticed any rubbing on the receiver. I haven't shot it yet but I've cycled it quite a few times. I'll keep my eye on it but I don't think it'll be a problem.
I got the muzzlebrake for it; it looks really badass. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I am absolutely in love with this shotgun. It's up there with my REM 870MM in terms of smooth shooting. Quick handling. A joy to shoot with 2 3/4 shotshells. Shoots damn good with 2 3/4" slugs, 3" slugs are, well, 3" slugs. Manageable, but very accurate as well. (My shoulder and hand hurts!) The full choke surprised me. This is turning out to be one hell of a package. Did I mention I love the sights?

Has anyone considered removing the foregrip and either filing down or dremelling the inside of the slide to remove the area causing the grief?

I know I will give it a try when I get mine....

I scraped off the burred part with an exacto but its doesn't affect it much because theres enough wobble (not actually notcieable unless you are anal like G22 :p ) in the forearm that even if you sand it away the edges will still touch when they shift during pumping...

9mm,
Sounds like you'll have to remove more material from the slide. The exacto just isn't "cutting it";)

Actually, I picked up a lighty used (150 rounds) Pro Force today at the local GS and did notice a slight "rubbing" about an inch wide along the sides of the receiver caused by racking the slide.
What also concerned me was the fact that when I looked through the sights, the front Hi-viz was noticeably tilted to one side. I could not determine if it was accidentally bent or if it was just put on that way:eek:

Other than these two minor points I'm still convinced it's one of the nicest SG's around. I'll be putting my order in for one real soon!

Pardon the hijack, but since we are posting pics of new fabarms, here's mine.
As I've mentioned already, I received it a couple days ago and so far I`m very happy with it. I got the optional muzzlebrake. This weekend I'm going to run a bunch of slugs through it. I think it'll be a great camping/hiking bear gun. It's small and light. I'm sure it's also pretty scary for zombies.
