Was intending to pick up an SKS but after a little more research recently, decided on an SVT-40 instead - liking the more powerful 7.62x54R round than the smaller SKS 7.62x39 version. It's a 1941, matching numbers refurb, from the Ishsvek arsenal. It just seems wild to hold a 74 year old rifle in your hands that you know most probably saw use in WW2. You can't help but think of just who wielded it during those years and what their story is....a little piece of history that I'm thinking I'm going to keep whatever it shoots like.
