My first whitetail

You have no reason to feel anything but proud of your first deer.
I shot my first deer [a doe, BTW] in 1958, and I can still relive the experience vividly.
Congratulations, and enjoy the tasty meat!

Congrats on shooting your first deer! My first deer many years ago was a doe too. Don't worry about what anyone else says about it. Any deer is a good deer. I hope you enjoy the meat!

Take pride in your harvest and make no apolgies... I have been hunting deer for 21 years and this years is my avatar.. It was a nice 4 point and I took it clean as you did your doe... You got some awesome preservative free meat that you worked for instead of buying crap at loblaws... You earned it.. Raise your chin and be proud bud... No excuses...

After three years of bow hunting I FINALLY took my first whitetail. I know its a doe and its not the biggest deer in the bush... But its my first so I'm proud. Last year resisted a iffy shot at a big buck and earlier this year i let a small fawn pass. Tonight this doe and a bit smaller doe came out and I couldn't hold back any longer. Came into 35 yards and i took the shot. Haters gonna hate but Im happy with my first deer. http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc495/sandrewb/379796_406116884959_505689959_1519652_469867776_n.jpg

That, right there in bold, sir, is the mark of a hunter. We all know that keeping the "buck fever" in check can be real hard to do when the big fellows show themselves like that.

Many congratulations to you! As others have said, you'll never ever forget your first one, and you'll be happily reliving that story for many years to come.

Nice doe. I can remember my first archery deer. More rewarding than a rifle or muzzleloader in my opinion.

This is the op's pic. Not mine.

beautiful doe. congrats on your first deer. mine was a yearling doe 3 years ago. we were tracking another wounded one when she came dashing up the hill straight at my father in law. she got about five yards to him by the time he turned around and cut back so she was running broadside to me. by that time i had the gun ready and slammed her mid jump. hit the ground and that was that. never will I ever forget it. killed my first buck on the same hill this year.
would love to hear your story. again congradulations couldn't ask for a nicer doe
