my FN FAL got grabed by fn RCMP

SO....is this just a FAL thing?

or will they start pulln any converted auto that someone tries to transfer?

......it would be tempting to begin a transfer on something just to see what happens....it can always be cancelled if they scream inspection...

.........except who would want to risk it....?

Nope, it's any CA firearm. I can vouch for that.

Again, the problem is lack of people affected. Just like the criminals on the street, they take advantage of the few numbers of people involved.

And here is a huge area the NFA, CSSA should be getting involved with their political contacts, but they are satisfied to let "machine gun" owners take the heat. The NFA, and CSSA are basking and chest thumping over the long gun registry. I said it 10 years ago, the registry did nothing. This lab abuse does screw people around. But the fudd duck hunters aren't affected so fak everyone else.

Isn't that the truth.

Have any of the "inspections" involved guns previously RCMP inspected?

I was in the Arctic when C-17 came in and the locals sent my Bren to the Firearms Lab. I've still got the lab report.

I have a couple lab reports as well-unfortunately for guns I have since sold

I asked before-how long before this is forced on people regardless of wether the gun is being transferd

they will not release it to me for dewatting if it fails whatever test they are going to do ..they did this to me before 15 years ago ..had my belgian heavy barrel for 9months and never even fired it ..it was in the grease when i got it .MINT..i got it back all banged and scratched up ..turns out it never left hamilton police station ...

The timing of this sounds like sour grapes retribution for the LRG and back door registry thing. Petty.

this happened to me with my H&R M14 I bought from Lever Arms over 23 years ago. Took it to a local dealer to get it verified to register. They told me I can't even own it cause it was a converted auto...
I said all I want is an M14 that I can shoot legally so he offered to trade me a Noinco M305 for it ( he also said he didn't want to insult me). I said sure why not and now I'm at least having fun with this Chinese copy!
Yes the law makes no sense whatsoever...

It's funny you should mention that. When I called asking about the turn-around time, I was speaking with one of the lab people. I express my wonder about the time span involved for a 30 minute project that would include all of the paper work. No answer. I brought up the fact, again, that we can't even take them out of the house, she laughed. I expressed my wonder about lack of customer service.

She stated: "Well you know we could come to your house and demand an inspection of all your guns"... Verbatim.

I wonder what would happen to me on my job, if I was found to be threatening and trying to intimidate people in such a manner?

There aren't that many CA guns being transferred. This one has 2 parts to be examined, and documented, again. Again, I am confusing the issue believing they are actually trying to do their job and provide a service to the people of this country.

I'm sure after my phone call and these posts, these lab people will make a determination that the gun I am trying to purchase does not meet the required standard, therefore to be confiscated.

Did Caje ever get his FN? He stared the thread informing us about the yellow legs Sc**wing with the collectors. I suppose they have all that money from closing the LGR and shutting down half of the Forensic labs to slow down the return of the terrible Converted Autos. I think there would be a better use of forensic resources in other directions.

Has anyone asked these questions: Just who is qualified to certify these firearms as capable to be converted back to full auto? What training or experience do they have to make decisions concerning this subject?
I have had experience regarding civil servants not having the expertise required to answer questions that they should know.

worse part is we pay these asshats ..to screw us ...i wish they would try as hard to find and convict the criminals but we are easy prey that requires no effort...

The whole thing is ridiculous. I would bet that there has never been a crime committed involving a legally registered fully automatic weapon in Canada. Anybody ever hear of one?

Ouch - if you had any idea what all the parts less receiver were worth now...

I don't have CAs, but you have my support. We might not like the decisions of the Librocrats, and sometimes we have to live with it. But THIS is something else. They won't do their job (of FaRTing or inspection) as a means of screwing people over. They even threaten people. Pure Stasi.

no i have quite a few 12.3s .....parts less receiver arent worth much if nobody needs them ..you cant ship the parts to the states ...hate to say it but your better off dewatting it

Dewatting still requires that the rCmP have their beeks in the issue

they can just as easily demand to see the dewatted gun to 'ensure it meets specs' and you can bet it wont

....and when you consider todays requirments for deactivation....
