my FN FAL got grabed by fn RCMP

Makes me furious. My infractions were from making comments about my feelings on the RCMP. Im going to stop writing now before I get banned..............

Been there, buddy. Brushing them all with that brush isn't fair, but at the same time the anger sometimes gets the best of our posts.

Nowthat's odd, I got my Australian L1A1 out of Canada. Granted all L1A1's have a go-fast switch BUT they do NOT have the rest of the parts. the lower recievers are the same but not the internals. Just WHY in the heck would anyone want to convert one to full auto (even if they could find the parts.)
The BATFAGS here whine about the safety sear. Removing that could allow the rifle to fire out of battery (bolt bounce)

John its not the L1s or C1s its the ones we have called converted auto that we are having problems with ...like a belgian FN heavybarrel that the full aut parts would be welded and modified so the gun would shoot semi only...back in the 80s many ca's came into the canada ..brens, stens,1919A4s,1919A6s,vickers ,mp44,mg34 and 42 all of which i own but cuz of our ahole gov we cant shoot anymore ..now when we sell or transfer one of these types of guns the RCMP wants to re examine the conversions if it dosent meet their criteria for conversion it gets destroyed with no compensation

The L1 and C1 are in the 12.5 OIC class. Not considered converted auto, but still prohibited with grandfathering. Therefore still not allowed to take them to a range, for fear what might happen between your house and the range. Apparently babies will be eaten and kittens squished.

They may be seizing and destroying them, but if they are they are breaking the law.

Before they can destroy anything LEGALLY, they need a court order.

Or you have to sign a quit claim, then you have done it to yourself.

I was told that by an attorney.

they can just as easily demand to see the dewatted gun to 'ensure it meets specs' and you can bet it wont

....and when you consider todays requirments for deactivation....

Yes, this is currently happening, the police are checking dewats. The CFS (Center for Forensic Science, Firearms and tool marks) is currently looking at several dewats that were deactivated long ago (to spec and the law at the time), but are no longer meeting the current dewat specs now. The CFS is for Ontario only, OPP and other local Police forces, The RCMP has their own lab.

Nice eh,...

Which is stupid because the law says a dewat is a dewat once certified it only ever needs to meet original spec not the latest. I looked into all that a few months ago

I drive a manual-shift. I believe any good mechanic can turn it into auto.
Will they call for it to be delivered and crushed?

How is it that they can demand to inspect dewatted pieces? They're not registered, not qualified as firearms, and have no requirement to be owned by a licensed individual.
