I walked into the local gun shop to check on a pistol I had ordered in and walked out with a new toy and a happy girlfriend.
The pistol is still a week away but as I was shooting the #### with the owner and noticed a big white crate at the front door with chinese characters on it. Inside were about two dozen of the most cosmoline soaked sks's I had ever seen.
I called the girfriend over as she was buggin me for a new blaster. Long story short after being the nice boyfriend and digging through every one of these rifles to find one she liked and forking over the cash I had another rifle for her.
I'm no expert on these but I did own one a few years back. I still remembered how to field strip and clean all the junk out of it. There was a lot of it too. Luckily it was still pretty soft and the varsol took it out pretty quick.
This one seems to be much better built than the last one I had. The parts are machined well with fe rough spots. The bolt and carrier are very well polished and the gun racks like butter.
The only poorly made part is the stock. It's quite rough and looks like it was made with a dremel tool. Oh well the gun is for shooting not beauty contests.
I believe that this gun has a threaded barrel. the barrel shape is much different than the pinned one I had before.
The best surprise is the trigger. It has the usual creep but has a nice consistant 4.5lb pull. My last one almost needed two fingers to pull it sometimes.
We're trying to get out to the range today to get some action behind it. I have a couple of clips full of the czech surplus left from my last one and I paid through the nose for some privi partisan at the shop I bought it from. I also have a case of the czech stuff coming in on order as well.
