my glock 17..out performed by a norinco 1911 in 9mm...

Get some real mags, don't mess with a perfectly good pistol. Clean the firing pin channel and leave it dry, clean under the extractor, make sure the chamber is clean because the coating on the steel case ammo can gum up the chamber. Hold the gun properly, work the trigger properly. I've seen Glocks fire absolute garbage ammo (including firing and cycling a black powder load), I'm betting it isn't the ammo, when that Bernaul stuff is bad, it's obviously bad - nothing subtle about it.

Forget about it guys, we're all women for shooting Glocks. Melt them down and let's go buy some "Manly" guns.

Seriously, quit posting this garbage. If you have a problem with Glock, write them an angry letter or something. Let the rest of us try to help this guy.

Yeah that's pretty igorant. Nice maturity level. I am going to try pmc ammo as that what my friend was shooting in his norinco. i'll probably get the recoil spring as well. This might sound stupid but i want to build this gun to make it a speed gun..for me atleast. I think a threaded barrel and compensator would be great..along with a lighter slide. Also thanks to those who have been helpfull.

Gear down there big rigs.....

t'was a little humour. I have 4 Glocks (G17 x2, G21 and G20) however, mine all function just like they're supposed to....

rarely is it the gun that's the problem, but sometimes it is...

It is the ammo hands down! The Glock is a great platform doubt its the mags everything you describe relates exactly to my problem.

I have a NP-34 Norinco copy of a SIG 228R with a SRT kit, Hogue grips and love the way it shoots, but when I use that crap ammo everything goes to sh_t!!!!

When I use decent 9mm the pistol does it's job. That cheap crap ammo is garbage I took a box back to Canadian Tire they insist it is great quality still waiting for some replacement ammo I would never trust my life to that CRAP. Should have known steel casings heavy lacquer......

Now as far as the Norc being better than a Glock really each to their own. My Gunsmith buddy has 3 1911 Norcs and swears by them as a base platform to mod.

They do require a bit of tweaking to get the most out of them unlike the Glock which is good out of the box but remember the price.

Arguing which is better is really just stupid. If the Norc was 650.00 they wouldn't sell any, if the Glock was 380.00 it would be terrible so lets remember the price point as it just such a stupid debate.

My Army buddy loves his Glock, the poly frame makes it a pleasant easy platform to master, me I am old school and want an all metal gun love the SIG balance and feel, but spending 1200.00 on a 228R would not fly with my wife.

Oh well dump the ammo try some more expensive ammo your Glock deserves it!!

Would you feed your kids cat food and tell them its Tuna????????

Wow your a piece of work... Seeing as you have no real input, why not loosen your panties and go watch the girls play soccer.

I have had my glock 17 gen 4 for also 6 months..only shot bernaul steel case fmj non corrosive ammo out of it. Yesterday at the range my friend was shooting a norinco 1911 in 9mm using pmc. I was also using kci mags..my pistol was about 200 rounds deep at this point. I've also noticed a few light primer strikes. Is my glock crap? Ammo problem? Kci mag problem? Input?

Maybe you suck? lol

Here is something that really helped me...

try cleaning out the firing pin channel. My buddy had his completely caked over with lead and powder residue from shooting tonnes of dirty ammo. was exhibiting light primer strikes. After the cleaning, all good, ran like a champ.
