My Glock Build Thread

Hi everyone,

My Glock 21 is stock with the full-size grip. I would like a custom grip job to make it a bit smaller and to accept Glock 30 mags.

Any gunsmith with experience on this?

Cheers,
Phil

I tried to order for my glock 17 a wolf competition spring kits and 3.5 compound conector from glockstore.com and this is what they told me..

We regret to inform our foreign customers that our ability to ship gun accessories internationally has been suspended indefinitely. US Customs had just informed us recently that we cannot ship gun parts outside of the US and we must comply due to strict federal guidelines; unfortunately, there is no estimated time frame when we will be able to resume shipping internationally. We apologize for the inconvenience. from glockstore.com

hello fellow gunnutters, been following the thread here, and ive been looking to purchase my first glock. I am a fairly new gunowner but have had the intentions of purchasing and modifying a glock 17 3rd gen. ive done most of my looking for parts and accessories on the site www.rockyourglock.com. If ordering from the other side is a nogo, can i still aquire the parts i seek in canada? such parts include the stainless accessories(pin kit, trigger upgrades, and lonewolf standard land an groove rifling, etc). any advise as to dealers and price ranges are great, as i am on a budget. and tim, thank you for posting the thread, very helpful for me

I found this site for trigger parts for my SR9. This site is mostly into glocks. I installed one of their Rocket connectors into my SR9 and a Ultimate connector into a Glock17. Their products simply work as stated on their site, lots of other Glock parts as well.

Tungsten Guide Rod $49.95 www.glockstore.com

Now you can add the extra weight of a Tungsten guide rod to your Glock and help control muzzle flip. It makes a lot of sense and it really works. Plus, the weight feels good in your hands and I guarantee you will shoot tighter double tap groups. Made to exact specifications to simply drop in your gun...no gunsmithing required!

Factory weight spring is included and captured on the Tungsten Guide Rod as pictured. You simply drop it in and replace the factory plastic rod in seconds!

Weighs 1.6 Ounces (45.36 grams)
25% heavier than the Stainless Steel Assemblies

This is another mod that I do to all of my Glock's with good results. There are a few benifits to running this kind of recoil rod in your Glocks.
1) It adds weight under the barrel, where you need it. This helps to fight muzzle climb when shooting and makes for a faster follow up shot.
2) It is not a captive spring, you can change out different weight springs to suit your needs.
3) It will last virtually forever

I have managed to damage 2 OE recoil spring guides in my time with my Glock's and it led me to get these bad boys. You cant go wrong with this style of recoil guide rod system.

As for all the modifications I have preformed to all of my Glock's they have remained 100% reliable. I have never once had a stove pipe, miss feed, mis fire, light primer hit, or any other malfunction. If I do find that any of the modifications cause a function problem I will note it under the part.

Which spring weight would you recommend? The factory 17lbs or slightly lighter 15lbs?

Mags for the Glock 17

Canadian Ammo has 10 shot Korean mags for the 17 priced at $25 each. Does anyone know if they are of adequate quality?

Pro:
I got 2 KCI mags and they work flawlessly...
Works perfect in my Glock 17 Gen 4 (Right handed). Looks and feel pretty tough! Best bang for the buck! Works almost like a genuine Glock mag...

Con:
If you use a gen 4 but you put the mag release for a left handed, it would not catch the magazine latch...

Any safety or reliability issues in doing all those mods to a stock glock? Have you tried any match barrels? are they worth the money?

I'm waiting for my first G22C from wolverine and all the after market stuff listed on your build from glockworx.

I have found that the KCI mags dont drop free and therefore they work fine for plinking but can be a time killer in matches.

A friend of mine has had several KCI mag base plates break when dropping the mags, but his GLOCK mags have never broken. At least have some GLOCK mag base plates on hand for replacements.

Reading this thread was a bad idea! The Glock store and I are now very close! I ordered three things thanks to this darn thread! lol
Gun looks great!

Is there anyone on here that have ever wore out a M21 45ACP i am wondering about longtivity??? Talked to a guy at the range who showed me his said he never cleaned it for a year shot round after round through it and when he took it apart in front of me it didn't look dirty at all but clean are they that bullet proof?

Does anyone know where to get the slide plate cover with the Canadian flag on it? i saw it on here a while ago when someone got their new glock and I can't seem to find a retailer for it anywhere.
