My Grandfather's Win 94, in 32 Win !

Check this out!! My Grandfather's Winchester Model 94 in 32 Winchester special which has been passed down in the family, and is now entrusted to me!! What an honour! The rifle is almost 100 years old and might have shot corrosive ammo back in the day, but luckily the bore is MINT!!

Looking up the serial number, we figure it was made somewhere between 1922 and 1923. My Grandfather would have purchased it in and around that time. He was born in 1901, and my grandparents were married in 1929, so it would make sense that he bought it when he was a young man, prior to getting married and starting a family. Man, if it could talk! What stories it could say. I plan on handing it down to our daughter, when she's ready. Looks like this year I'll have to put my .243 bolt action away, and hopefully take a deer with my Grandfather's rifle. How cool is THAT!!??!!

Here's a pic of the Winchester and the Cooey model 60, my uncle also gave me. He said he bought the Cooey when he was 19, so back in 1956(?). How amazing is this?!? Thanks to my Uncle !! This means sooooo much to me!! We will take very good care of these, and keep them in the family!! They are cherished!

Lovely old rifles, and like you said, if they could only talk. Congratulations I hope they bring you many years of great hunting!
It wasn't long ago, that folks had pretty much pronounced the 32 Special dead. Some guys were shooting 30-30 out of their 32 Specials. That is no longer the case, and ammo is readily available again, however, I'd be saving my brass anyway 'cause you never know.
Failing that, 32 Special can be readily fire formed from 30-30.
 
I wouldn't form .32 SP from 30-30 if you also own a 30-30 a .321 bullet down a .308 barrel might not be fun if it would even chamber?

Agreed! We do have a Marlin 336SS 30-30 for our daughter, hoping she has some interest when she's older.

My wife is truly blessed to have her Grandfather's rifle!

My Marlin 336 in 35 Rem and our little one's in 30-30 Win. All of us now have levers in different calibers, lol.

I shot my first two dozen deer with my grandfather's Pre-64 M94... it always had a lot of meaning for me when I carried it in the woods... I still remember the feeling when I dropped my first buck with that rifle... I was pretty jacked.
 
Those are great keepers for sure. Your .32 Special is like my 1910 '94 in .32-40. These rifles with 26" barrels are super nice for offhand shootin'. :)

Nice old rifle.Would be nice if you had a picture of your Grandfather with a deer he bagged with the rifle.Then when you bagged a deer with it,you could have the two pictures displayed side by side.

The .32 Winchester Special is a good cartridge.Now sadly ,almost forgotten.
