Two buddies and myself just got back from our trip up in Northeastern BC (don't ask, Im not telling where :D) and I just had to post my first ever bull moose. The pic was taken from my I-Brick (nickname given to my phone by the buddies) as it had no other function, as there's worked just fine:mad:

Congrats on your hunt, so its location was zipper lip valley was it?
A young tasty swamp donkey, looks like there is more to the story too.
One guying doing all the work ;) .
With the advent of lithium batteries in hand tools a couple of spares for the reciprocating saw and some spare blades and your good to go.
Easy to pack unless your walking in from 30 miles .

Yeah, the location is hush hush as I was a tag along this year and was told the I would be hanging beside the moose if I spoke of it, lol.

The weather was suppose to be warm and clear (low of 15, high of 30) for the first week but after getting there it all changed which was a good thing other than I didn't bring the right clothing other than my winter jacket. The big one in the second pic was shot on the second day at 7pm in a marsh. It was a wet and cold night as the temps changed to low of 2 and highs of 18. All worth it in the end though :D I'm new to hunting so I got to watch and learn with the first one and was on grizzly watch. He went into the freezer the next day.

The trip went into a dry spell for the next 9 days as there wasn't much to see until day 11 when I got mine!! The morning was beautiful and clear and had seen him munchin about 150m out so I added a 180g Barnes TSX to diet :D Took me about 20-30 mins to find him as there were huge holes in that field and he fell into one. He only made it about 50 meters to where the pic was takin. I got more "hands on" with this one and did better than I thought I would as I've got a pretty weak stomach lol

Shot taken from here into the field strait up the road.

Same spot only 12 hours later!! Weather was crazy up there and could change in only a couple of hours.

What a 180g Barnes TSX does to a moose. Very impressed with this bullet with little meat damage compared to my buddies 180 Nosler with the first moose.

We had brought with us two freezers which was just big enough for 2 for the ride home. Those chainsaw are the cats a$$ when it comes to spliting the ribs. My batteries are going on 5 years old now and took about 2 to do the ribs and pelvis. Didn't need and veg oil as there was plenty of fat on them both.

I have never....ever...seen someone take a deep freeze to pack meat home in lol. That is hilarious. Guess it works - it's going to be a delicious winter for you.

It is becoming more normal than you would think now. Last year they told me that the temps were in the upper 30's!!! We weren't the only people to have them this year. I won't got without them now :D

Some more pics:
Got out a bit late that morning but it made a great photo.

This is/was the leader of a pack of wolves that tried to make me dinner one night. I was a little frazzled after that.

Going with freezers or a homemade cooler on a trailer is the only way to go. When it gets warm out that meat can spoil really fast.

Yup, going with freezers is the only way to fly. This was a great first experience at a long hunt especially with the guys I went up with, they were a wealth of knowledge. I enjoyed every min, even if we only got 4 hours a night to sleep.

That Wolf looks on the small side must be a yonge one but he does have mean looking face.

He was really small specially when we saw his paws, there were massive and not in proportion to his body. Very aggressive too!!! Him and 4 #####es popped up on a well lease and after taking a shot at one of the females, he charged right at me from 150m out!!! Took a shot at him, missed and hit the dirt in front of him  (panic set in) and then he doubled back to my right and tried to get me from the right but I had a buddy 50m behind me watching the road in. After the wolf spotted him, he got charged at as well and he didn't miss:owned: He's been hunting for over 40 years and he said he has never seen a wolf do that before

Thanks for posting, I just love looking at other people's photo's and reading their htg stories. That logging road pic looks EXACTLY like where we hunt, sure you weren't in Ab? ;)
Seriously, congatulations on your success. I've yet to find anything to match moose meat.
