Well I've been a lay a*s bugger lately so this is a bit late. I got this in the mail about 2 weeks ago. This one is in 45acp. So what would you suggest for it? I'm thinking of this for the optics http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94494

I have just got one in 9mm and like it. I put an aimpoint clone on it which seems to work quite well. However, I am thinking about trying one of the Elcan or ACOG rip offs to give a bit of magnification (it seems to be reasonably accurate out to the 200m range).
 
This is the restricted version, this one has not been rebarreled. For me the barrel seems fine as is. Although I will admit that it would look a bit better if it had an inch or 2 off the end.
 
sorry, my red dot is sold. It worked well enough on the Storm 9mm. I have tried an aimpoint and an eotech and both worked good.

I am going to an actual scope for shooting gophers (9mm non restricted Storm).
 
You know, I spent alot of time thinking the Storms were kind of silly. They looked inelegant to me: like a 92 with a whole pile of extra plastic added. Last week I tried one and I think I'm sold. The thing was much heavier and much more solid that I was expecting.

I had one in 9 mm with a shortened barrel that would put ten cast bullets into two inches at fifty yards and about six at one hundred. I was planning to put on a longer barrel to de-register it, but it shot so well the way it was.
Now I have a .45 to match my Springfield Longslide, and I haven't seen how well that one will do yet.
I used a big red dot scope, about 45 mm. If the battery dies, you can still use the irons by looking directly through the scope in a pinch.
 
Whenn Epps rebarreled these things did they use a standard, readily available barrel? IE: could I purchase the parts separately and then get my tech to put them together for me? Info appreciated.
