My local Canadian Tire sells Imperial Ammo

I shot a couple tonight during a gravel pit trap session. Surprisingly, they cycled my ol' Auto-5 Mag Twelve that doesn't like to cycle any other 2 3/4" steel. They also cycled in my sister's 11-87 without a problem (not that I expected any).

I did some figuring and the cost for Winchester Xperts is about .10 more per shell. Considering the quality difference (in my opinion) between them and the fact they're Canadian made, I can see myself shooting a lot of them in the future.

I can only see two negatives to them.
A) They come in 20 round boxes, which is really only a convenience issue
B) They don't smell like the IMPERIALS of old...more like dog pee (but still not as bad as Trail Boss)

I hope if there's interest they come out with a 3" load...I can dream ;)

That was my thoughts exactly plus I heard many years ago when IVI was sold that it was bought by Challenger?

General Dynamics bought IVI in 1980, perhaps the challenger bought the imperial trademark or was given permission to use it.

Challenger has actually been bought by Cheddite, the company who has been supplying the primers, hull and wads for challenger shells all these year. So challenger isn't really Canadian anymore it is France French.

SNC bought IVI, then GD bought the plants from SNC. CIL/IVI let the trademark expire in the 90s
