I had my new M&P 9mm out at the range tonight and I have mixed feelings about this gun.
Overall feel of the the gun was good with the factory installed medium backstrap in my fairly large hands.
The novak sights were very good for quick and consistant target aquisition.
The loading of magazines was no easier or difficult than my other 9mm semi auto's, or maybe a little tougher, but they are brand new.
The feeding and ejection of the Wolf 135gr RN lead ammo was flawless.
The recoil was milder then I was expecting from a gun this light. I may even say that it was delightful.
It felt tight and controlled at all times and the accuracy out of the box was about what I expected from a "service" type gun. It's probably as good as my pre B CZ85 or my other Hi Power clone. If it wasn't so busy tonight I would of taken the time to sight it in, but I also had my 12 yr old nephew with me and he wanted to shoot a handgun for the first time.
The trigger: That will take some getting used to. This is the first DAO gun I have tried shooting with at bullseye targets at 20 yds. The trigger pull is substantially more than I'm used to with my CZ or FEG or my Buckmark in SA. It's way more than my DW .357 revolver in SA.
So if I can get used to the trigger, I would say it's a pretty good gun for what I intend to use it for considering it is not really a target gun.
Oh and my nephew loved the shooting and also realized that it is far more difficult to be accurate then he thought.
