Yahoooo, I've been meaning to get a project like this happening over the many years I've shot Precision Rifle matches and hunted with my M700's...
Many of you know me at the M14 dude, but frankly, I've haven't competed with an M14 since 2005 (Service Rifle and Sniper rifle), some of you know me at a Rem M700 and Winnie Model 70 guy! Well, here's a post for the M700 lovers. I would like to dearly call it M700 #### but Tac Bolt Knob Install Review will be more appropriate.
I've been wanting to get this done for so long, but just never got around to it. So after working some extra shifts and obtaining a bit extra money, I've smartened up and supported one of our CGNutz dealers: Allen Gun Works
The bolt knobs set me back $ 35 each and the installation was $ 35 each. Simple enough math for me. The return mailing , I also had to look after. And since I was not sure of the final price including McSquinty's HST of 13%, I just EMT'ed the final amount to Mike (after he invoiced me via PM on CGNutz) who is just back from Azzkrakistan, Thanks to Allah!
Great black matte anodizing ! Matches the SPS finish
Here's a pic of the bolt knobs (2 of them) that returned today from Allen Gun Works in Northern Ontario:

Here's a picture of the knobs with the unblued portion showing. A quick touchup with the Gun Blue Paste from Birchwood Casey's lineup solved that problem immediately. Have a gander at the before and after pictures

Here's the picture of the bolt handles AFTER touching up with the Gun Blue Paste. Beauty looking, eh? What a nice looking bolt handle after the touch up. Life is sweet. Then I installed the bolt handles in both rifles....

Both my hunting Remington M700's... even if I love my Winchester Model 70's also!

Here's your chance to get your bolt handles converted if you ever thought about it! Cannot forget that other CGNutz dealers/smiths like Alberta Tactical Rifle, Casey at TacOrd, Accurate Action, and more carry out this operation. Life is too short to wait. I'm kinda bummed out that I waited this long, but also glad that everything worked out well. That's what I get for 'sitting on the pot' too long.
Cheers and happy tweaking
