Interesting to see Ruger's rendition of dangerous game sights:
Just when you thought something couldn't get any beefier... That rear mount's proportioned like an ##### temple. Those ain't gonna move just 'cause they got smacked against a doorjamb.
Apparently on a few, and that was very few, there was a concern that the screw holes for the rear sights were drilled and tapped too deeply into the barrel.....if the screws were sticking thru into the rifling they would scratch the fired bullet thus causing a slight inaccuracy issue, not to mention tearing hell out of the patches when cleaning
I sent mine away at Ruger's expense and got a clean bill of health.
The serial numbers concerned involved a few sold in Canada and a small shipment to Australia....
