It was just 4 years ago, when I took $100 off a customers reno bill for his Chines SKS in really good shape. Still have it and will probably never sell.

I think it's a great survival rifle.
I counter that. In winter, I'd be happy to carry a vz58, I've still never seen an sks that can shoot accurately past 25 yards.
(I'm just poking at bees nests today)

Just shot with my elbow on the bench - 12-29-21 ca. 0* 5-10k breeze - 50 yds = 5 @ Left eye - 10 @ Heart ; 100 yds = 1 thru 5 @ head - I can barely see it at that distance. Targets on poster board, heads are ca 7-8" tall. Shot with irons - no optics. Accurate ?? = Good enuf ^O^

Not bad at all, now are you sure that was an sks and not buckshot?
(okay I'll stop, I don't really hate the sks, it's just a slow Wednesday 'office' day)

It's just not as durable with several noted bolt failures, the "gremlin". Otherwise, agreed. Awesome rifles!

A lot of the Soviet SKSs currently in Canada came from the Ukraine ; I wonder if they kept any for themselves as NATO countries , including Canada , are currently helping resupply Ukraine with weapons .
I suspect they are using the proceeds from the sale of the SKS's to acquire hard currency. They could use the money to purchase more modern equipment. The US has likely sent over a ton or two of modern rifles chambered in .223 along with equal tons of ammunition. Trudeau has given them $150,000,000 of our taxpayer money to fund flowers or some such thing. They are not suppose to buy arms with the money. Bravo Trudeau and his Liberal friends. I suspect the provision was put in the offer to placate the ladies at CBC. "Oh the horror..."
I use my Russian SKS for a truck gun. I should buy another from Tenda to support the Ukrainian cause if that is where they are coming from. If they are from the Ukraine Tenda should say so. My bet they would sell them all out in a day just from the Ukrainian Canadian community in Edmonchuk.
I wish they would send over some more SPP my stash is low.

the VZ 58 was NR, unless someone had the restricted short barrel version, but who buys a restricted when there is an NR for the same price but just with a longer barrel?

Actually… one of the major reasons for an inaccurate SKS is sloppy stock fitment.
Also. This is the first I’ve heard of this Russia/Ukraine Sabre-rattling. Life is so much better when you switch-off the news.

they were good at minute of man. so maybe you have higher expectations than your skills.
You really mean it when you shut off the NEWS! If you see a large mushroom like cloud just S.E. of you across the water don't bother to shave that day.
