My NEA Rocks!

I bought a bare upper and swapped my barrel over to it because I didn't like the DPMS upper that I had. It's fine, no dimensional problems, and finish is good. Rail fits scope riser, which the DPMS upper did not. I also bought an NEA bolt carrier group as a spare, and it was cheap and looks fine, although I haven't need to use it yet. I'd better test it, if I intend to carry it as a spare and have any faith in it.

LOL, hahahhaha!!!!!!!!

I have not had a chance to shoot mine recently but I can say that my 14.5 (serial #44) has been flawless. The trigger did suck and I replaced with spikes but otherwise it has gone bang every time and has had no issues of any kind that cannot be attributed to anything other than my ability.

I will admit that after shillgate I find myself a little less proud of the rifle but am still glad that a Canadian company is giving it a shot.

Close to 1k rounds through mine. No issues, no flaws, no ftf/fte's.

I'm more than happy with it, and I'd recommend one to anyone looking to get into the AR game on a budget.

Becasue its faster and cheaper. It saves a tool change and eliminates using a radius cutter to make a rounded shape.

im sure noveske keeps straight angles because its cheaper and easier as well,

since when was cheaper and easier without losing performance a bad thing? the shape is purely an aesthetic there, one that some like... not to mention you can just get a slab side NEA and eliminate the FA altogether...

VLtor is doing straight angles as well,

but im sure no one likes the VLTOR or Noveske angles either

Sounds reasonable enough.

Yeah for me its an aesthetic issue but also a quality level indicator (not always the case, of course). I wouldn't get rid of the forward assist for obvious reasons, however.

Bah… Those are the same uppers! Noveske uses the Vltor upper. It says Vltor on it in the picture!!

Also, the Vltor upper is modular, the forward assist can be removed, so the upper can be converted to slab side and back again… thus I would be hard pressed to say Vltor did it because it was cheaper or easier or purely aesthetic as it is functional… notice the screw hole?

I know… I know… I shouldn’t be posting in here…

i dont think they designed it like that to save money... its how they want it to look.
it you look at it there are plenty other edges they have that are rounded, so why would they not have to change a machining bit to do those edges but they would to shape the forward assist?

I've got a slab side upper on my NEA 10.5" an I love the look and feel. I had a few issues with mine as well but all were dealt with professionally and quickly. Jeff and Dave were very good to deal with.

For those with the "gritty" trigger, I believe they were offing a replacement at little or no charge. I got one and its broken in very nicely. 4-4.5 lbs I believe. From low ready I can put 5 rounds in the A zone @ 5 yards in .98 sec consistently. ( all my TDSA ar training didn't hurt either)

Anyhow, I'm at least 4000 in since it got fixed up and haven't had a single FTF or FTE. I plane on picking up an 18" upper for my Christmas present for myself seeing as the kids get spoiled by everyone and I get some new socks and boxers....
