Well since Winchester hasnt offered a .300 H+H in years, I had one built. Started out with a late 1990's Super-Grade "Boss" .338WM. Had Jason at Gunco in Ottawa screw on a pre-chambered Douglas barrel. Cut to 24" which I prefer. All else required was to remove mag spacer, replace bolt-stop/ejector and extractor coller (why I'm not sure). Also had action bedded. Work cost about $800. Few groups I've fired went easy into 1"-1.25", but should be able to improve with handloads. Thoughts, opinions?

Very nice rifle! I love the .300 H&H cartridge. Lots of history and great performance. How does it feed? I have a M70 featherweight in .308 Win and it feeds beautifully. I bet that nice sloping .300 H&H is really slick.

Feeds slick as poop through a goose. Hope to get back to Alberta for last week of November to see if I can bloody it on a whitetail.
