My new .50 Beowulf

It just arrived this afternoon from Armtac. The 12" upper receiver for my new .50 Beowulf. I put it onto a Rock River Arms lower, installed the Eotech sight and voila - a thing of beauty!

To answer the yet to be asked question - yes the 5/10 mags take 13 rounds of .223 although I haven't tested them out yet. Keep in mind the mags were designed to take 10 rounds of .50Beo and are pinned to 5.

I've got the reloading dies and 200 empty cases. I should be getting the bullets some time next week. So shooting it will have to wait.

Can't wait to hear how much that rings your bell with the 12" barrel :). I was looking at the 16" but they sold fast, so I'm interested in knowing how the 12" is for concussion.
 
Aww, you got a 50 ! Lucky.

One day. Maybe I'll get one of those instead of a Deagle, seeing as all I seem to find are scammers when shopping for one.
 
where did you get the mags though? i been looking for beowulf mags for a while with no luck...


we just need a beowulf AR pistol now...

The upper kit comes with a short 4 round mag. I ordered an extra two 5/10 mags with the kit. These resemble .223 30 rounders with the pin at approximately the halfway point. Fixed like this they will accept 5 rounds of .50Beo as per the law. Now a Beowulf pistol with 10 round magazines... they would probably take 30 rounds of .223 (of which, of course they were not designed for). All sorts of possibilities.....
 
Not sure if I am more jealous of the upper I missed out on, or the mags.

Dam, going to have to replace all my mags now... Hope your .223 testing works out!
 
You fool! You should have put on a 7.5" barrel and no stock. Classified the gun as a pistol, and designed some mags for it. This way we could stuff 26 rounds of .223 in a 10 round .50 beowolf mag. Why do you torture us with the possibility!

Aside from that, awesome AR. Very nice.

Alas I am a simple man with simple tastes. Many are the possibilities raised but long is the journey.:p

If the .50 mags don't work with .223 we may have foolishly raised our hopes. Don't get rid of those LAR mags yet. I will try the Beowulf mags this weekend with .223 and report back the results.
