My new .50 Beowulf

I think that's a pretty good price for a semi-auto .50 in an AR platform, even if you still have to get the lower. Good for you!

I tried to buy a pair of the .50 mags listed on Armatacs site this afternoon, but I was told he's sold out as of this morning.

If anyone has some, give us the details!

Yep im pretty sure most people who looked at this thread immediatly went and checked Armatac's website... Me included lol.

If Armatac can bring these in regularly, they could make a fair amount of money.

I have 2 of the Beowulf mags.

They feed 13 just fine, even the last round. Bolt locks back on the last round. Used them at the last 3-gun match.

If the OP can tell us where to re-rivet the mags so that they fit 5.9 Beowulf... ;)

So if its just the floor plates that are marked, would swapping to ranger plates just be asking for trouble? What's changed as far as the follower is concerned?

I've thought this over, and honestly I wouldn't put the ranger plates on since the baseplate is nicely marked.

I slipped the rubber Magpul sleeve over it so the engraving is still visible.

I'd keep the floorplate intact. This is one piece that clearly shows what the magazine is designed for. There is some etching on the inside curve of the mag that reads:
.50 BW
A-A

There is also documentation that comes with the mag that states it is a Beowulf 10-round magazine. Of course, the magazines sold by Armtac are pinned at 5 rounds to conform to the law.

All this shows what the magazine was designed for the .50 Beowulf. The key word here being "designed". If you modify the magazine you may be running into sketchy territory. All this to say, I'm keeping mine as original as possible.
