Mark

Just had to be the first kid on my block (country) to have one.

Went to the range today with the new Kimber and a new Para LTC that I bought a few months ago. I had only put 75 rounds through the Para before today.

I'm too lazy at the moment to type up a proper range report. I'll do that tomrrow and post some pictures of both guns.

ooooh look! another 1911, that looks like all the rest................ I really really don't get it. ;)

I can never understand the light rail on a handgun. Especially on a 1911, Looks pimpish. Must be a marketing ploy, helps in shooting sideways gangsta style I guess. Love to get a sig 220 stainless but not with that f ing rail. My HK 23 has one, but it blend in and looks like it belongs on it. But like the old saying, different stokes!!!!

I don't subscribe to any one way of thinking on how a gun should look.
If I like it, I buy it.

Sorry for the delay with the pictures. I have them uploaded to my webserver at home. I just had some new office furniture delivered last night, so the webserver is offline in the corner of the room.

The finish is quite odd. Its like a hard enamel. Cleaning this finish is a joke.
The first thing I do when I get a new firearm is detail strip it, clean it and coat it with CLP until its almost dripping, overnight. This way all steel gets a nice oil treatment with all the bonuses of the components in CLP. Makes all cleanings painless.

As you could imagine the fit and finish of the pistol is nothing short of outstanding. The night sights(green) are extremely bright, and easy to pickup in bright light. The tint of the finish seems to change with the amout of light. Indoor light makes it look darker, slightly green tint to it. In bright outside light its really sandy and light in colour. Of course it was my girlfriend that noticed this.

I made it out to the range for a few hours this past Saturday. No pictures of that as the camera didnt make it into the range bag. It went bang every pull of the trigger....... big surprise there.
As for accuracy, it shoots better than I do. Compared to other pistols I own it reminds me of my USP Tactical in terms of accuracy. That guns also shoots better than I do.

The only interesting thing to note about its first range trip was the way it throws brass. The first 100 rounds or so flew all over the place, and far.
I mean it launched brass from one end of the range hut to the other. Nobody to the right of me was safe from hot 45 brass. However by the end of the day it had calmed down and started putting them all in the same place.

I also brought my new Para LTC with me, also a great shooting pistol.
This pistol had only been out once before and had 75 rounds through it.

Long story short. I'm really impressed with the Warrior pistol. That hard finish coating on the desert model is a bonus. Round count is at 300 for the warrior and 150 for the Para.

Who still has dial up? hahahaha

How did you like the tear down and assembly? I got fustrated when I did mine the first time cuz I kept hitting the grip safety and the slide wouldnt slide forward.... then when putting it back together the side safety catch kept hitting the back of the slide so it wouldn't go back on. But now that I know what Im doing it should go easier.

great pics..... is it true it looks more tan/brown in natural light?

How slick is the finish?

Some photos make it out to be very matte and about the texture of parkerizing, but yours (And a few others) appear to be very slick, almost wet.

Thanks,

Brad

Yes there is CLP in the pistol in the photos. I have noticed over the past few days that there is quite a difference between advertised pictures and real life.
If I had to describe it I would say it more of a slick enamel. Without CLP or oil on it (minus camera flash) it is not wet looking at all.

I should also mention, that I cleaned all the carbon and gunk off this pistol with a DRY cloth. How's that for a finish?
