My new hunting rig, Tikka T3x

The price of the OEM mags made my decision pretty easy. And I have a Bunch of 10 round AICS mags here. I like to shoot and the AICS mags will make it more fun.

I can put the factory plate and 3 round mag back on for hunting season if the 5 round AICS mag sticks out to far for my liking.

I guess its just more practical for me to use the same mags across different firearms. But the price of spare Tikka mags is insane even for me.

Firedot :)
I'm interested in AICS for this rifle for the same reasons. You should post some pictures when you get it together with the 5 round mag.

I have pretty much the identical set up in a few rifles, I prefer the Vx6's w/ firedots myself but that's personal. I would highly recommend a set of the alumina caps, they are well built and will give you good protection and they look really good.

Found a pic of a T3 with 5 shot aics and Atlasworx aics/CTR inlet.

Heading up to Prophet river this morning. And I just noticed they have the B&C stocks in stock. this will be an expensive day... FML. I will also drop off my T3 to Insite Arms to cut the barrel down to either 20 or 19 ( havent decided yet ) and thread 9/16-24 to accept the APA Micro Bastard or the new Heathen( havent decided yet either ) :) This will make a pretty nice rig for hunting me thinks.

Well this followed me home today. a nice .308 T3x and I couldn't help myself and got the B&C stock instead of the laminate. I got Prophet river to order me a APA Micro badger all thats left is to get that barrel cut down to 20"

Nice! I've been curious about the inletting on those stocks but never bothered to call them about it. Do they require bedding or good to go as-is?

what was the cost on the scope? That looks to nice to hack the barrel off, shoot it first before cutting it...:)

Why would you brake a 308 hunting rifle? Don't care about your hearing? I know its tacticool but I'd never hunt with anyone that had a braked hunting rifle. I mean to each his own but yeah overall the gun looks good.

I see you ended up buying the VX-5HD. I figured you'd like it.

I look thru the VX-6 as well and to my eyes it didnt warrant the extra cash for a hunting rifle!

Well when im not hunting and having some fun shooting groups brakes are great. This is why I choose the APA they are easy to remove for hunting season.

More than I wanted to spend...lol... and I dont understand the reasoning behind a 22.4" barrel for .308, So it will get the chop even before I even try it.

You should have looked at a Kimber Adirondack 308... 18", carbon fiber stock, bedded, muzzle threaded and only 4lbs, 13oz......:)

Can't speak for others, but I know too many old duck hunters with hearing aids to not wear ear pro.

Yeah but waterfowl hunting when you're banging off hundreds of 12ga rounds a day vs 1-2 (maybe 2) shots over a period of days/weeks with your 308 is way different. I'm not gonna wear earpro walking through the bushes or while sitting on a cutline and some times you have to shoot quick so theres no time to throw on ear pro before that deer takes off. This is why we need suppressors lol.

Definitely not enough extra features on the VX-6HD to warrant almost an extra grand. I actually find it laughable that it's that much extra.

The VX-5HD really does get you a lot of scope for the money. IMHO it may just be the best hunting rifle scope you can buy for the price.

Enjoy your new toy!!

Get electronic ear pro and wear it all the time.

We do need suppressors though.
