I bought a KKW trainer off of EE and it got here yesterday. It was still in the packing grease and claimed to have been never fired, which seemed to be accurate as there was not a spot of powder residue to be found, anyways. Took my new-to-me JW25 out to the range today to break it in and couldn't be happier.
I really like the sights on this rifle, but not sure if the elevation is correct. I kept pushing it forward and there seemed to be no change in POI? The piece that the elevation adjustment slides along has a very slight incline, which is probably why the adjustments were so fine. they adjust from 25 to 200m in 25m increments, so i might just be used to the larger increments such as the nagants where they can go up to 2000m and are pretty much vertical.
I put about 150 rounds of Blazer 40gr. I was seated behind the bench, and had the rifle resting on it. I was pretty impressed with the whole system, shot decent groups. mind you I went to an indoor range that's only 25yds, but still.
I had some trouble with the magazine, the second round wouldn't always feed properly as the mag wouldn't push it up far enough for the bolt to catch it, or the nose of the bullet would get pushed down into the magazine, but it usually worked itself out with a little finger poke.
You can see in this photo the cartridge is a little too far down inside the magazine.
This one shows how it should be.
I just wanted to share my newest rimfire with the crowd, and show what it can do. I am obviously not the best shot in the world but i think its pretty good, especially for the money. Great budget rifle, and highly recommend picking one up if you can find one.
