Well as the title says, finally decided to pull the pin and order a M&P. Always wanted one just never got one. I ended up getting a the M&P .40 range and carry kit from frontier. Ordered it tuesday, showed up the following monday. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet, waiting for the registration to come in. So far I love it, slide release is stiff, but nothing a few hundred rounds cant fix. Any advice for some add ons, other than lots of ammo? Well here's some pics, last one is a comparison of the M&P and my 90-two(which is for sale on the EE).

I am exceeding fond of my M&P40...nice score on the range kit.

I can't suggest much by way of add-ons...extra mags, maybe different sights [I am not a fan of 3-dot sights].

Lots of people will suggest the Apex Hard Sear and other upgrade parts...I would hold off on those until the gun is broken in with a few hundred rounds and you can evaluate the trigger carefully. Not that the Apex parts are bad, but you may not regard them as necessary...

That was going to be my approach to it. Run it for awhile and see what/if anything I would like to change. Also any opinions on ammo for it?

I like it alot found this nice way to lock it in the original case using the cable lock provided. i cut out a little foam where the padlock sits.

I carry the .40 for work. I shot thousands of rounds thru it and I absolutely love it. We shoot Winchester ranger, but those are really expensive. I haven't tried anything else yet. Many ppl suggest buying a box of every brand and see what shoots the best for you

I love my M&P45 and I may eventually get the Apex kit for it but that is really all I think it might need.

One thing that has me curious though, is why S&W went with such a cheap Chinese cable lock. It makes the whole package seem Mickey Mouse. I know it might be trivial but you would think they would spring for somthing of quality. I don't like how you need to turn the key to lock it back up again instead of just pushing it together. I have a Master and a Mossberg brand cable locks and they are much nicer.

Maybe I am just getting old and cranky.

i think that they all come with out it now... but if you bought a new sear block it comes with them mag safety built in to it. yes i agree the cable lock is a pain in the but since you have to turn the key to lock it ..

US made Berettas used to come(maybe still do, I only get the Italy ones) proper master lock cable locks, if you want you could look into an Abloy one or something.
