My NEW MDT LSS Arrived! First Impressions Report! Yahooo

I love how you guys are saying a 26" barrel is too front-heavy. How about THIS:

30" Bull barrel baby! :D

Granted, LOP is a little crazy right now, and I've fiddled with the placement of the scope to try to (unsuccessfully) fix the eye relief. I think I'm going to try Toolman's trick and toss the fixed adapter, and screw the PRS into the tube.

This chassis as wonderful a piece MDT has built is just wrong with a long barrelled action and PRS stock. Eye relief looks painful and why the OP opted to switch out chassis's. The LSS is better suited to a 20" with a light weight CTR stock. IMO. Nice looking build tho on yours

Thanks. Toolman pointed out the XLR stock might be better. I really like the LSS so I'm going to see if I can get just the stock.

The more I use mine the better it is. I have no issue with the LOP or eye relief everything is in a good place.

24" barrel. Still working out a good load for it. 69 smk's, 60 vmax and 75 bthp are all looking very good. 75 a-max turns it into an 8 moa gun lol.

I just finished bedding my new LSS. The contact with the chassis looked good, but good is not great, so I added some devcon for the recoil lug and under the action at the two screws. Came apart easily, thank god.

One question, has anyone else found the front action screw that comes with the chassis to be too long? Mine sticks up about 1/8" and the bolt won't close. I'm using my old screw, fits fine, but was just wondering if anyone else had this issue.

Was it by any chance on an SPS Tactical?

No, Savage 12 BVSS.

OK. We had one other case where also the front action screw was slightly too long, which was resolved by adding a washer.
Thanks for this feedback, we will make sure that this is resolved for future shipments.

About the bedding, most people who use our chassis don't do any bedding but simply drop in. The majority of contact should be on the flats of the V block.
Any additional details or pictures you may have would be great!

Too late for "before" pictures, I'm afraid, but there were two continuous lines on either side of both screws where the action was making contact. There was also rub markings along the tang, showing contact there too.
It didn't take much epoxy, less then a millimeter, but there definitely was a space underneath the action around the screws. Don't know about the recoil lug.

There is supposed to be space underneath the action. If it was tight, the v block would be ineffective, and you would lose all your accuracy.
