Finally got around to breaking in this new field rifle this weekend. Its an amazingly adaptive tool for our Canadian seasons in the bush.
Collapsible stock is very handy for the truck or quad/sled, iron sights are very simple to adjust and the accuracy and follow up shots are fantastic.
Very low recoil, felt similar to a .223 but very smooth. Not a single FTF using cheap but non-corrosive bulk ammo the first 150-180 rounds.

No bench shooting or paper targets yet, just honest bushwhacking, hiking and sledding and old dead trees as targets.
Shot standing, kneeling, prone, off hand, folded stock and using various trees as bipods....
its amazing to shoot. Iron sights are useful for actual situations where you would need to stop an animal.
The rails are handy and removable hand guards are great.
The trigger guard is just perfect for my mid weight gloves or inner gloves if you are wearing sub-30 mittens etc..

Will be adding some fold away Leupold glass for next season up North for work and an attachment system for my daypack.

Bought from John an his team at Wolverine (+10 yr customer!) , very happy with this purchase. Its a keeper.

Downside is its a bit heavy for some people but I like that its a tough piece of kit and doesn't feel cheap.
The white finish will of course show wear and dings and scratches, but then again,
I don't send my axe or chainsaws to the spa so I don't care...it works as advertised!

Cheers!

Awesome gun, awesome paint job, awesome caliber!!! Am jelly!!!

PS.
The wear and tear on the gun will make it look badass IMO...will show that it is USED and gives it that Bobba Fett look!!!

I'm going to take mine out with me today. Not sure if I'll shoot it, as today I'm putting in some practice with my AR, but, I do have a few final loads I want to run through the XCR, and, with it being a high of 8 and sunny here in Cambridge today, I'd be a fool not too.....

Ahhhahahaha....after a few hours of hiking some people might want it to levitate! Great filter on the photo, thank you!

I had it resting on the ear protection. Looking forward to some glass enhanced long range trials but for practical reasons, I stick to the low tech and reliable fold down iron sights. The cleaning and takedown are a snap as well. No issues with the factory 5 round mags, easy to feed and nice low profile doesn't get snagged on any gear. Highly recommend a fore-grip of some variant given the heavy barrel for real life shooting, its no "bench queen".

Cheers

The folding stock is a dream to use. Simple to deploy and fold away. Makes it very easy for transport and storage in truck or plane. I found the adjustability of the cheek weld easy to use as well. You can still operate the rifle when the stock is folded (not sure that I would recommend doing so however ...)

Looks great! How solid are the folding stocks on these? Iv'e actually never handled one.

There is wobble in the stock though. Truth be told, you only save 8" when it's folded (assuming you have it out to it's maximum length).

In my opinion, the wobble isn't worth the 8" saved. I'd rather a fixed stock, but, that's coming from someone who put an A2 stock on their AR to make for a more solid/accurate shooting platform.
