After trying to decided wich non-restricted black rifle to get, I finally decided to to go with the HK sl8. Mostly due to accuracy being my major concern.
And I have to say I am glad I did. The ergos are not that bad, despite what every one else say. I can reach the saftey with my thumb no problem, and my hands easily hands the thumb hole stock. And weight issues... if you need a rifle lighter than this thing, mabey you might want to take up baking instead.
Accuracy was definitely MOA. I set it up with a bushnell trophy 3-9 mildot, in weaver rings. I was shooting remington 77g match, and hornady 75g steel match. I shoot just a bit over moa but that was do to flyers, as I didn't have the rings torqued to the rail enough ( i didnt want to damage the polymer base). So there is no doubt in my mind that with a better set up, hand loads and little more determination I will shoot 1/2-3/4 MOA.
Also a side note on the Hornady steel match. This stuff ran flawlessly. No FTE or stoppages at all. Unless you count the one were my beautiful finance road the bolt closed here first time cocking it. ( her fist time with a auto loader)
I might one day start dreesing her up, swith AR mag well, diffrent butt stock, but as far as Iam concerned only thing I need to do I switch out the long as rail, for a low pro low rail.
