Got a call yesterday AM from my gun shop to tell me that the New Browning A5 Sweet 16 that I ordered last January had arrived -- Drove the 75 Klicks in snow to get it -- I got the 26" barrel version (5lb 12oz). I cleaned off the factory grease , added a shim for more cast and shot it today -- used Hurters 1oz loads @ 1150 fps. This little gun performed flawlessly and really lived up to its Sweet name :d Nice piece of wood too.

How do you like the grip? I've heard of a few people looking into changing it already. I have one of those type grips on my Beretta Extrema 1 and I shoot it just fine. Not as traditional as one may like, but shootable.

Grip is great for me --- always someone who needs to meddle. Worst I can remember is when I was distributing firearms, a guy bought on of our SxS's from one of my dealers -- promptly tore it apart -- didn't put it together properly so the hammers/firing pins wouldn't line up with the holes in the breach face. He then drilled the holes out larger. Then went on line calling the product junk even after we gave him a replacement under warranty. Go figure!

Takes all kinds. Love your gun and happy that you like it. I would love to try one out. I'm a big fan of the 16ga.

Have you handled the 12 ga version .just wonder how much the 16 ga is scaled down from the 12 . beautiful gun enjoy .

I own the 12ga version in 3" waterfowl -- absolutely no comparison -- the receiver is much smaller top to bottom & the hump is smaller. Supposed to be on a preparatory frame in 16ga and the 20ga will be different when they come out. BTW the speed load feature is much smoother/quicker and is easier to load the magazine than the 12. I placed the order for this back in January because the 12 fit me well.
Merry Christmas, John

How about telling us how it differs from the traditional long recoil Browning in action. I am interested in how it feels.
I never loved the old Browning Auto 5 belonging to my Father-in-Law for appearance, but I sure shot it well.

I'll let you know after I shoot it. However the 12ga version is softer shooting and faster handling from any Auto 5 I've had in the past.
