I got out and shot my Kimber today. The rifle is a Kimber 84L Classic chambered in 30/06. I mounted a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8X scope on it. I loaded up some 180 grain Nosler Partitions with some H-4350 powder and figured that would be a good place to start. I shot three 3-shot groups and they measured 1.270", 1.015", and 1.390" for an average of 1.225". I hope I will be able to improve on that with some load work, but if I can't I will still be happy because that is still pretty good for a gun and scope combo that weighs 6.75lbs.

very nice set up . i think over time once you get a few more shots thru it. it will tighten up in the accuracy department .

Beautiful gun and outstanding photography! You will be able to do better than your first trip out. I am sure you did a ton of research on Kimbers before you bought. Sometimes they seem to take a bit of experimentation, but stick with it and you will find a load that shoots sub-moa.

I was never able to have my 308 84 under 1.2 MOA, it was a deception for me, but more are good, i probably got the ugly duckilng... JP.

I got out today and tried some 165gr Sierra Gamekings. I shot 4 groups at 100 yards and 3 groups at 250 yards. The average for all 7 groups was .914 moa. My smallest group was a nice surprising .490" at 100 yards. Of course with this thin barrel all groups are 3 shots. Also I think the very light weight, and the 8x scope cause some obvious fliers.

The rifle shows excellent accuracy potential, shoot slow, keep the barrel fowling cleaned and if you start feeling
the recoil stop shooting. The Kimber is above all else a hunting gun and one of the lightest, they are a pleasure to carry
but could get uncomfortable to shoot from the bench, enjoy your gun.
