I may ruffle a few feathers here, but I laugh my ass off everytime someone says thay are pissed off and whines 'cause someone rode/drove by their stand in a truck/ATV. The fact that they CAN drive by in a truck should tell you a thing or two...LMAO.

I've been hunting a looooong time, and I have never...even once....had a truck or quad drive by me, or even within sight of my stand.....but then again, I hunt the BUSH, not the roads. Fer christ sakes people, buy a decent pair of boots and HUNT allready. It's the guys that hunt 10 feet off the main trail/road that give me dirty looks as I drive by to get to a trailhead and start walking that make me piss myself laughing...then they post here :p

Seriously: If you have your stand somewhere where trucks can drive by.....it's your own goddamn fault that they do, so please don't whine here on the forum. I hereby declare that the next guy who whines that a "truck hunter" f**ked up his hunt by driving past his stand should be laughed off the board.

Know what the difference between a "truck hunter" and a "Road hunter" is?

The Roadhunter freezes in the stand over the trail, while the "Truck Hunter" has heat and AM/FM radio. Neither is better than the other....one is just more comfortable ;)

So laugh me off the board. But not alot of bush round here.

When you find an area that is treed and offers cover, so much the better. I have those too. But there isn't thousands of acres of trees between you and the road. Thanks for your input. Meanwhile, I think truck hunters suck.:bsFlag:

Well...my rant wasn't directed at you specifically....there are all kinds of them in this section.....like the guy who was pissed off that someone had the gall to drive past him on the ROAD he was hunting....twice.

As far as your specific situation/complaint: While there isnt tons of bush in your area, I'm also pretty sure there isn't a road every 500 yards (for someone to drive by you on).....therefore, as per my earlier suggestion: Walk. If you walk a bit, not only will you see more/bigger/older animals, but you won't be bothered by the "truck hunters".

I stand by what I said earlier: Don't like the truck hunters? Quit being lazy and hunting near the roads!

I'm also pretty sure there isn't a road every 500 yards

No, but pretty darned close. And the rest is covered by two tracks in the grassy areas, and terrain flat enough that any critter in their right mind can spot a truck from any distance. The kicker was in my case, the guys were all camoed up. Essentual gear for the avid truck hunters. :D

And I do walk. That's why if an area says no motor vehicles, as per my original post, I park and walk in to my spot. If it doesn't say no vehicles, I still walk it. But where I was hunting, there are service roads for private use. (Read two tracks) Not hunting. Land owners travel the same routes, as not to disturb an area too much. Being posted and violating it does ruffle my feathers. As for where I hunt, I hunt where the game is. And by parking my butt on a well used trail, the theory is sound. Minus the variables. Truck hunters suck. :p

excuse me? its ok to come online and bash others but you get offended when the favor is returned? Like Wrong Way said these crybaby whinny assed threads are getting old, who gives a rats behind someone is road hunting hell foxer had at least a dozen pick-ups go by him moose hunting this fall in a hour SO WHAT, comments like road hunting IS NOT HUNTING......oh but sitting in a tree stand is? how many animals are in your freezer this fall so far? mines full, road hunting, spot and stalk, sit and wait it all works fine if your a HUNTER to begin with ;)

I try to stay out of the roadhunting threads as I do enjoy going for a leisurely drive after biostats on a nice afternoon :D

Somebody said: Hunting is hunting. Just like fishing is fishing. Sure, some ways of hunting are much more effective and more ethical than others, just like some ways of fishing are more effective and more ethical than others.
Hunt your style. I'm a sit and wait hunter. I see the most animals by sitting and waiting for them to come to me. Some guys see the most animals when they drive...good for them.....thats luck I don't have.
If you don't like road hunters, get off the road.

covered in snow right now seeing it decided to become winter today, other than that pretty shiny chrome oh and the billet grill is fine to, yes the heated seats work just fine and so does the power sunroof and power rear window and that rhino lining in the box is great ;) :D

PS being a crew cab super duty it also hauls 6 hunters and 6 moose ;)

What? You too good for a canoe? Those damned canoe hunters piss me right off!!!! :p

I work in the oil patch and I don't give a #### who I drive by. I can't count how many times I've been stared at, maybe even yelled at.

My favorite is when I pass somebody, I usually honk and act like I'm happy to see them, just like there an old friend that I just happened to run into in the middle of nowhere. It usually doesn't go over that well, but than again, that's why I carry my .410!

I want a bumper sticker that says, "dust king".
