I've got many rimfire rifles but among them here are my favorites, the upper one is a Marlin 983T 22 mag topped by a 3X9, the other one is a Marlin 981T 22 lr with a Tasco red dot, those 2 are the most accurate and never had an issue... Do you have a favorite rimfire... JP.

I love my tube mags; Marlin Model 60, Cooey Model 60 and a Cooey model 600. Ever since I got the Marlin 60, I won't go back to a box mag.

Been looking real hard at that Marlin 983 for my .22 Mag requirements.

The 983T is so accurate with CCI 40 gr, it shoot easy sub moa, next time i am at the range i will make a test target picture to show, it shoot on par with my CZ 22 mag at 40% of the price and the tube never lead to and issue... JP.

Often the mag is the cause of the issue, not completely clip or else, a tube fed is always the same, long to load but very reliable... JP.

2 of my faves...981T. Supper accurate with bulk ammo.
17 rounds at 25yrds with a cheap 3-9x40

I would never use a comparison to a 22magnum to make claims about the accuracy of a 22lr, since it is far easier to find an accurate 22lr. As for moa, it is pretty decent accuracy, but it is not at all uncommon for a 22lr if you use decent ammunition.

He's not comparing .22Mag to .22LR....He's comparing two .22Mags; his 983 and his CZ.

Here's one of my favorites; an old Marlin 783 Tube Fed .22Mag; loves the CCI 40gr Maxi-Mags also.:)

My mistake.

As to accuracy comparisons, how many different loads were compared in each rifle? A comparison using only one or two loads has very little merit, given how much accuracy varies from load to load. The only worthwhile comparison tests involve testing several loads in each rifle, and comparing each rifle with the loads that it shoots most accurately. The reality is, that many people really have no idea as to the accuracy potential of their firearms.

I want that gun. Moreover, I want marlin to start making guns like that again.

Current list of tube feeds:
Nylon 66, Rossi 62, Winchester 1890, Remington 12C, Marlin 20A, Cooey "repeating .22", and a model 60, Marlin 81DL (it's outer tube is a mess though)...

I'm kind of "past" tube vs. box debate...I love 'em both. Never lost a tube magazine. In a "loading race", I can fill a tube much faster than a box.

And nothing beat having 18 long rifle or 13 rounds of 22 mag, you can shoot a lot before reloading... JP.

25 rounds of long rifle beats 18, and with a detachable magazine, reloading is much quicker through the use of a second magazine.:)
