My rem is done. :)

Posting examples of rifles that are set-up properly to me would be a lot better way to go.

You FAIL Supercub, the scope isn't purple enough.....oh, and don't you remember it needs the 15,500,000mm objective for the nights he's out hunting that fall under the new moon. That little scope will never bring in enough light.

I had that exact scope on my deer rifle and it was too dark. The lad's rifle is poorly set-up, granted, but suggesting anything smaller than a 32mm is bad advice.

In fact, if better glass supposedly lets in as much light as a lesser quality glass of a larger diameter, then why not go with the lesser quality glass in this case?

Buy a cheap 3-9x40mm and mount it with some silly putty as close to the center line of the rifle as you can, measure the height of the putty, and then try and find some rings close to that dimension, erring on the large side.

That's funny, cuz Leupold sold a TON of those 1.5x5s and 1x4s, all with straight tubes, and you're the first one I've ever heard say they were "too dark".

Here's another example of a better set up for that type of rifle.

While mine is a pump, that basic rifle is the same. It HANDLES & FUNCTIONS perfectly.

HA! And they are right, you need some half decent rings, not junkers.

What can I tell you? I used it for deer hunting and the only way I could get enough light was to back off the magnification to 1x. And even then it was darker than my $150 Bushnell.

They are a great scope for certain applications. Not for mine, nor do I believe the original poster's.

young paduwan it seems that you have a poorly constructed lightsaber.
sorry for that couldn't resist.

please take the advice that has been given. Although Tod Bartell and his band of fools have punished you severly. They do have alot of experience.
If you dont beleive, then take your rifle to the range and see if you can hit anything. I think that once you shoot it you will see the issues. Remember
it not about how fast you can shoot it, its about how quickly you can accurately and consistently hit the target. You owe that to the game that you hunt " it is the best shot, not the only shot that counts" Most people have to make their own mistakes to learn from them. You have an opportunity to get advice from very experienced people before you make the mistake of taking that rig to the woods and wounding/loosing a game animal. Take a look at the rifles supercub and afew other guys are using. That is the light saber to use. my 2 cents cdn1
