All I have to do is drive up tomorrow to Hilden and pick it up.

I'm rather excited, some may recall the bits and pieces got dropped up to a local Nova Scotia gunshop for some work, and I got the stock up just before Christmas for bedding.

Pics to follow tomorrow...I can hardly wait!

Started with my Remmy 700 SA in .308. She's lived a good life, the factory Varminter barrel on it was on a round count of about 7000-ish I believe. I tested her out after the last match of the season and she wasn't holding MOA anymore. Something had to be done.

So, I started combing the world for parts and bits, and tracked down a Rock M-24 barrel blank, an HS Precision stock, and a Nightforce 20 MOA rail. All of the above have now been combined onto my old action, along with some additional magic to hopefully turn the rig into a nice clone of a famous Nova Scotia built precision rifle rig.

I can hardly wait to see her!

NS, I'm looking forward to seeing it! You and I may have VERY similar platforms when it's all said and done.

Question for you? I might be using the same reamer you had your barrel chambered with. Any ideas as to the dimensions? I know A.W.'s rifles were chambered based on Norma Diamond match ammo with 168 gr. Sierras. You plan on shooting 155 Lapua's? Will the chamber be optimal for the longer Palma style bullet?

2 Bad,

Mine will probably end up being pretty much identical minus the engraving on the left side, and the bolt body.

I'll ask Sam about the chamber reamer tomorrow, I have some 155's that I'd like to use, but will mostly use it with 168's, moly-coated, in a load that is pretty much a balistic match to the diamond line ammo.

And yes, it's useless without pics, so here's one of the "old" rifle:

By the looks of that Sig you're more about the shooting than the LCF of guns. I always liked the look of a well worn gun.

NavyShooter: Did you bead blast and parkerize the action before re-barreling or are you gonna refinish when you get the works all screwed together ?

Cheers,
Barney

Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know of a .22 for sale, LR, semi-auto pref. I'm getting into target shooting

Don't be sorry. Just read the phucking rules and post in the right forum. Your join date is from the spring, so it's not like you've not had time to look around.

NavyShooter,
Where did you get the Mike Rock Barrel, from what I hear, his 5r single point cut rifled barrel is the cats ass. I've also done some research and his barrels are well respected.

Ok, here's the finished product:

As it arrived in my office:

I'm in love! What a piece!

Oh, and for those interested, the old barrel, stock and optics mount are in the EE if you're interested...
