My rifle shoots 1/2" groups @100 yards all day! Really? Prove it.

Our club range is 100 meters, not 100 yards so a 10% adjustment downward could be made. The 5 shot groups were shot during load development, with two different bullets and 7 different loads. You aren't going to make me measure them are you? Top row is 42, 42.5, and 43 grains of Varget under pulled down 215 gr Hybrids because that's all I had left.

2nd row is 44, 44, and 42 grains of Varget under the 210 VLD

Bottom row is 41, 42 and 43 grains of Varget.

Rifle is my future FTR rig, .308 throated long, Barnard single shot S action, Robertson composite BC-1, 31" Bartlien barrel. Its got a 8.5-25 Mark 4 8.5-25 X 50mm. Shot it from a Caldwell and protector rear. Nothing fancy there. Sort of concluded that 100 meter testing was a waste of time in this case.

Very nice indeed.
VLD’s load 44.3 44, 43.7,43.4. Yep better back up to the 300 meter line.

I'll have to try this challenge next time I go to the range. Last time I went I was shooting in the 1/4MOA range at 100m. I can't believe i haven't seen all these challenges earlier!

Updated my thread... so damn close again

I have many targets that average under 1/2"

But there is always a group or two over the limit.

Factory gun... factory ammo though, so I know I can shoot... and I know the gun shoots.... so no doubt in my mind.

Finally... Finally I did it!, WOOO!!!!!

Just barely skimmed it by, but YEAH!

Note, target was 115 yards, so had to calculate the group sized corrected to 100 yards, which puts my largest group at 0.4956"

Basically a new shooter here. What are people using for the info on the photos?

First time out with my new Tikka T3x Varmint in .223 shooting Lapua 77gr factory match ammo.
I seem to always pull my first shot so if I didn’t count that this would be pretty sweet. Yes technically over 1/2 moa with that crap shot. Just had to share with someone. Still thrilled with how this rifle is shooting.
Have to try the challenge as my other groups were not quite as good but I’m still trying to figure out the trigger.
