Got a great deal on this a while back off the EE from a great CGN'er. Was basically new in box and had the Ruger safety recall already done. After a very long wait for shipping I just installed some Volquartsen and Tandemkross goodies. The VQ accurizing kit and TK trigger were the best upgrades. The original trigger pull was probably 6-7 Lbs (I never bothered to measure it) and had a mile of gritty pre-travel. It is now very crisp with only a couple mm of take up. 2 Lbs 3.5 Oz 10-pull average. Now I just need to deal with TK to get the correct magazine bumpers (they shipped me the ones for a 22/45) and I will be all set for steel matches this year. I know it's not the most ideal pistol due to the weight but it sure will be fun. A Mark IV 22/45 Lite is probably going to be my next purchase.

I have the exact same gun with the same trigger(and color). Love the trigger. Changed the sights to a set of Williams Fire sights and love those.
These are just fun guns and yours looks great....

Did your VQ accurizing kit come with the trigger? Or did you just prefer the tandemkross. Is that a TK front sight? How do you like it - I'm tempted to order one.

I ordered the VQ kit without the trigger from TK and then added their trigger as I prefer the flat blade. The sight is the factory one that came with the Hunter.

How long did the Tandemkross stuff take to come in? I waited the initial 2 weeks before they shipped, it started moving quickly out of the states but it looks like it’s stuck in a regional processing (in Canada?)facility for a week now.

Each time I've placed an order with them it has taken over a month to get here. Usually about 2 weeks before they even ship it and then 2-3 weeks in transit depending on how long CBSA decides to hold it. The USPS and Canada Post end of things is usually pretty quick.

Outstanding looking. I like the red trigger. I just purchased a BNIB Ruger Mark lV Competition off a fellow CGN'r and I have already bought the same VQ and Tandemkross parts. Now I just have to wait for the gun to arrive. Thanks for posting.

So just an update. I added this to the collection this week:

Picked up a used C-More Railway off the EE as well. I already had the Halo charging ring and the magazine base pads. I'm just waiting for the Game Changer Pro compensator to be restocked at TandemKross and will be doing another order. This will end up being my primary for steel matches this year but I will bring the Hunter along as a backup.

Just checked the trigger pull on the 22/45 Lite. From the factory this one is miles ahead of the Hunter already. Still a lot of pre- an over-travel but way less grittier and at least a couple of pounds lighter than the Hunter. So I got out the Wheeler digital gauge and it averaged 4 Lbs 15.5 Oz over ten pulls. I've got all the parts ordered now between Calgary Shooting Centre and TandemKross so we'll see how much that improves once I drop in the upgrades.

thegrandpoohbah your 2 Rugers look amazing. How do you find the tactical compared to your Hunter. From the photo it appears that you are using the factory trigger in your tactical. I am just getting into the Ruger Mark 4 series.

The trigger from the factory is surprisingly a lot better in the 22/45 Lite than the Hunter. I have a Volquartsen Accurizing Kit along with a bunch of TandemKross parts on order now so the factory trigger won't be in there much longer. That will drop the trigger pull by at least half as well as get rid of the slop in the travel. It also does away with the stupid magazine disconnect.

Thanks for the info. I am just waiting for my Mark lV Competition to arrive. I ordered from Tandemkross the VQ accurizing kit with the TK trigger. Last month I replaced my wife's Smith and Wesson Victory internals with all the Tandemkross components and wow what a difference. I appreciate the information. It gives me something to look forward to.

Made a couple changes to the Hunter and got all the VQ and TK parts installed in the 22/45 Lite. The trigger pull on the latter is now 1 Lbs 15.1 Oz across a 10 pull average. The front sight upgrade ended up being unnecessary as I needed to remove the rear sight to get the C-More mounted lower. While I was at it I moved the mount towards the rear a bit to improve clearance into the holster.

Oh man. Those look great. Waiting for my RPAL currently and have been wanting one of these 2 models as my first handgun, but can't decide which one? Love the idea of having a red dot. Do you have any guidance? Will be plinking at the range and maybe interested in some steel matches eventually.

For steel matches the 22/45 Lite is a LOT lighter and will transition faster between targets.

thegrandpoohbah I like the way you did yours so I "borrowed" your ideas. I purchased a BNIB Ruger Mark lV Competition off a fellow CGN'r. I prefer the Hunter set up over the Competition but the deal he gave me was amazing so I could not pass it up. With the money I saved I was able to replaced the following items on the competition:
- replaced the competition grips with the Ruger laminated
- replaced the black front sight with a HiViz fiber optic
- replaced the internals with the Volquartsen accurizing kit
- replaced the trigger with a Tandemkross victory trigger
- added a Tandemkross charging Halo

Unfortunately Ontario is in a lock down and I have been unable to fire it. Thanks again for posting and sorry for borrowing almost all of your ideas. :)
