My semi auto Browning 1919a4 at the range today... Pic of group size posted!

Hey Guys;

So... I went to the range today to try running my semi auto Browning 1919a4 on a pre-45 cloth belt. And... IT WORKS!!! Man it was fun!!!

Best of all, I sighted it in with the EOTech 512 & custom mount (thanks dude, you know who you are)...

Two guys were at the range & they couldn't believe the group I shot! Here it is... First shot was low, so I adjusted the scope.

So... I do believe I will have a good chance next year of taking a deer with this, using a 5 round belt of course, as per the game laws.

I have two 250 round belts. Today I probably fired 75 to 100 rounds??? I was there to (1) sight in the gun with the new optic, & (2) see if it ran on cloth belts & IT DOES!!! :ar15:

...and are you gonna share the name of the DUDE who sold you a scope mount? Does his name start with a 'K' and end with an 'evinM'? :)

Not bad accuracy at all! I was actually shocked how accurate mine was last time I took it out. About that size at 50 yards, but with the irons... can't wait to try a scope mount and EOTech or Aimpoint. :)

Nope, not K...M, ha ha, but good guess!

And the 1moa dot was awesome! Plus, when you really started YANKING on the trigger, the 65moa circle came into use & kept you roughly on target, ha ha!

P.S. I forgot to say the group was shot at 100 meters...
 
they will allmost allways run the cloth (as long as the rnds are in correctly) fine its the links that jam up many of them mine sometimes runs links all day when the gun feels like it usually i run cloth through

After all, I may be able to convince Airborneboi69 to show up with one of his converted MG and we would have the best milsu shoot EVER!!! :D

When is the shoot this year? If my schedule works I may come for the day and bring some toys.
 
Nice groups Jay!.

The Eotech is the perfect optic for this gun.

What you need now is a set of spade grips. Once you try them, you will never go back to the pistol grip.

So is a belt of ammo, but trust me, you won't look at that gun the same once it has a set of quality spades on it. Totally changes the feel of the gun for the better.

Think of it as akin to a drop in match trigger for an AR-15, you did not change much, but you made the gun twice as effective to run as it was prior.

If we do ever meet up, feel free to take some ammo from mine with the spades on to get a feel for it.
 
Very respectable grouping!
I confess. I made the sight mount. Made one for Jay, another for myself. Two more are in the works, waiting to get some 1/4-28 Allen head screws.
The main bracket is made from a piece of 4x4x1/4 6061 aluminum angle. It is drilled and tapped for a Weaver scope base. The one on Jay's was for an octagon barrelled muzzleloader, with another slot milled in it. I used a slightly shortened base for a 336 Marlin on mine. I've got a 2 1/2X pistol scope mounted. The long eye relief is a good feature. A piece of Pic. rail could be used, as well. The Weavers were available, so I used them.
There is a catch - the mount has to be short, so that the top cover and the backplate can be removed with the base on the gun. A sight like the Eotech is ideal, because it is short, at both ends. With the compact scope, the scope must be removed before the backplate can be removed, although the top cover can be opened with the scope in place.

Thanks tiriaq, thank you VERY much! The mount worked AWESOME & I will do my best to get a deer next year with it!!!

It was even 'on paper' at 25, just had to adjust up a bit & left a bit... Then the first round at 100 hit low, so I adjusted up & shot the group you see on the CanadaAmmo target...

The gun is a hoot to shoot with the EOTech! It really is!
