My spring bear

I have already posted this pic but have not had time to write the particulars of my hunt, so...I was lucky enough to get this bear last Saturday with my Kimber MT 338wm shooting 225gr SP. After 6 full days of hunting, glassing, putting on the miles and more glassing I shot him in the last hour and a half on the 6th day at 80 yds. The bullet entered and exited right behind the shoulders, he ran like a banshee for about 30feet after the shot and then crashed. The hide has no rubs, he has a few scars on his nose, a busted canine tooth and a cool set of front claws. There's nothing like hunting bears IMHO.

Without giving away the specific spot, what was the general area? Grand Cache? Edson? Rocky Mtn house etc... ?

Great job!! I find nothing wrong with hunting bear over bait but when a guy stalks his prey for days...thats cool.

Thanks boys, it was a fun hunt. I didn't measure him with a tape but figure he is around 6'2" from nose to base of tail. Arms stretched I can reach 6 feet and he was a bit over that. While not a monster he has some character. As far as location I was by a large river in a area with lots of hills and trees Hope you can get on that bear in your post Demonical, he sounds like a dandy.
