Theoretically, taper-pinned is better, as it's less likely to work itself out during firing, especially prolonged firing when the metal heats and expands. I say theoretically, because I doubt it will ever be an issue for your average 5 round (or even 10 round) mag civvie shooting semi only. For the people who use these as work guns with full auto, or shoot a ton on a TR course, it's more of an issue, but still not much of one.
