My Tavor Review: pre-Shot Show Hype

I'm sitting in an airport bar right now and getting progressively more excited over the IWI US-made Tavors. They're definitely a priority for me this year.

So now seems like as good a time as any to post my full review of the platform.

I had to leave lots out on this, as I wanted to keep the talking under ten minutes, but I hope there's something of value for new owners and those considering the TAR21 as a platform.

I thought the US made tavor will only make 18" ones ? If that is the case...that is another expensive restricted rifle..

But would you be interested in a $2000 US made version if they came NR out of the box?

US guys are paying $1600-$1800 on their pre-orders!

If they were two grand I would consider getting one, but at the price right now, not too interested... That being said, this is only because I am limited with funds. As are most.

$2000 or less and I might still be allowed to sleep on the bed. Over $2000 and the couch it is.

Nope. I prefer my bona fide Israeli. But do have fun playing around with the US Tavor if you get a chance.

This. Depending on $$$ this year, I'm hoping to pick up a tavor in the spring and it'll be official Israeli kit only.

Doubt the Americans will make that extra half inch just for Canadians.
They wont do it for ACR...

I can't see it, either - as demand for anything prior to an AWB will be extreme. So why build a barrel just for Canadians when we can already get ours right from Israel? By the time it's officially released, the restricted US Tavor is going to be rivaling the price of the Canadian non-restricted one.

Hard to know until we`re there. Did we ever get a solid answer from IRunGuns? For a while there they thought they`d be importing a NR IWI US variant no problem.

I`ll ask some questions, and hopefully by next week we`ll have a clearer picture.
