My Tavor Review: pre-Shot Show Hype

I sat down for an interview with Michael from IWI US and Amihai from IWI in Israel that I'd like to have edited and uploaded over the weekend.

BUT: I asked Michael specifically about IrunGuns and an 18.5" barrel for Canadians and he said its not even a rumor. No talks with any Canadian importer that he knew of and no longer barrels in the works. So that puts that little idea to rest for a while!

That's a bummer about no Canadian (18.5") NR barrel.

Please find out if 13" barrel is in the works

Keep up the great work TV!

The shortest barrel you can run on the Tavor is the 15" CTAR variant (I assume you mean that since a 13" barrel would end about 1.75" inside the handguard).

Looking forward with eagerness to the interview! That's not surprising, considering their target market is the US, after all - and we already have access to genuine Israeli Tavors. Don't forget that this isn't a TAR-21 - it's a US SAR-21. Different gun, and will require classification and review through the RCMP labs prior to being eligible for import/sale in Canada.

Oops! Thanks for straightening that out for me blaxsun.

What are my options to get a restricted 15" barrel for my IWI Tar 21?

LOOK AT THE SAFETY ON THAT LAST ONE.

I never understood the obsession with full auto. Maybe it's just a want what you can't have kind of thing. I'm hoping to see more rifles go the way of the Micro Tavor.

This is one thing I never get....why spend over $3500 to get a restricted tavor???
Why not just wait for the US made tavor....if they ever make them.

From what I understand, the CTAR barrel we got is straight from the IDF. Exact same production run. I think that's pretty cool. Do Americans pay more for a true Colt M4 barrel?

It's something cool and different. I actually didn't find Full Auto that special at media day last year. (BTW, great X95 pics PurpleCow! You sent those over while I was in Shot Show mode so I only had a few minutes to flip through them.)

From what Michael said to me, I got the sense that IWI US is waiting to see what happens with an AWB before bringing on more lines. He seemed to indicate (but pointedly would not say straight out) that there was interest in bringing on X95 and Ace Galil family rifles for the American market.

Now to get back to editing!!
