Wrong AR line. That is a different AR102. Two different models share the same name.

The Armalite AR10KLM and AR102 have been deemed NOT AR15 variants. FRT has been published for several months now. It is a recent update to the FRT.
 
Same reason they have said they won't make a 223 model.

The ar10 came first. Then the ar15. Then the ar308 models based on the ar15 with scaled up parts like magwell and bolt carrier head.

The modern ar308 is designed to be a scaled up ar15 to use ar15 parts as much as possible. Hence the lab says ar15 variant.

The original ar10 isn't a varant as it is a design that came before the ar15.
 
NEA changing their tune now after being called out...

They are faulted by setting themselves up to fail because they wanted to generate "buzz" sorry but there are like 4 posts of mine on these forums by me about this already but here is another.

"You NEA" set the immediate release time line.
"You NEA" set an unrealistic price point and then back tracked and said not are fault.
"You NEA" made false claims of when the lab had to get back to you by.
"You NEA" tried to convince people you had the AR in your car, you were at the range with that pic.
"You NEA" you did all these things unprompted, and were stupid for doing it, all you had to do was wait till an FRT was issued.
"You NEA" Are to blame!!!

What is it they are to blame for?

No one can control the firearms lab or make them follow any timeline, my understanding is that you submit your prototype and they take their sweet ass time dragging it out for two to three years being a pain in the ass.

I really don't understand why so many people are so upset about this. It's just a rifle, if you don't want to wait then buy something else or don't buy one at all. It's like reading posts from a bunch of spoiled children,
I want it now!
Why can't I have it now?
It's all your fault I don't get to have a new toy!

Do you people not own any other rifles you can play with while you wait?
Quit your crying and grow up, it's not like someone is withholding your food or water, it's a toy not a necessity.

Nailed it....

It doesn't bother me that companies promote their products, that's quite normal for any business. Of course they want to create some noise for a new product release. It's normal.

I've wanted one since they were announced, I've bought plenty of firearms in the interim, and I'll buy one when they are available. :)

You could always have both and do a nice report giving your impressions and let us know how they compare :p
I already bought a MH as well but if these come out for under $2k I'll likely give one a try. I really need to stop buying new rifles though, seems like I'm always doing load development.

They earned a lot of that in their early days but I think they've improved a lot even though they still have the occasional out of spec piece make it past QC.

Lol, wasn't long ago I was telling my wife I'm pretty happy with my collection and since then I've sold my Cadex, an AR with a second upper, and my Kriss Vector and now have the MH, an M305/Blackfeather/Kreiger build, two new semi auto 12ga, a new 300win "build", and my Magnum Research 22mag semi.

It never ends no matter how many times I say I'm satisfied and should just keep what I have :cheers:
