Nea 102

It is possible that is just the official answer, kinda like the answers we frequently have gotten from ATRS on their rifles.

Anything is possible but I doubt they would have gotten it through as NR if you could just swap in a short barreled AR-10 upper. There must be something different since the one reply said that they would not be selling stripped uppers and lowers so we could build our own.

Supressor, standard capacity magazines

Wow some citizens in this world are trusted with nice things
Everyone knows that it takes 6 shots to kill a person so with a five round magazine everyone can safely run away while the crazy gunman is reloading
Politicians only have movies to go by for their info on suppressors, they actually think they make a gun sound like a kitten fart. :ninja:

If the 102 barrel extension could be purchased, new barrels could be made easily enough.

Maybe I'm reading the QA differently than you, but I get the impression they are saying the barrel nut is proprietary but not necessarily the barrel extension. They are being somewhat coy as always. I guess we'll have to wait until the first ones are out in the wild to know for sure.

Absolute worst case, take the installed barrel to a smith and have the extension removed and a new barrel spun up from a blank to match. Would still clock in less than some other options and you get to pick length, chamber and contour. And really, if you want to rebarrel, what good is the take off barrel anyhow?

Yes. Basically have to wait until one can be examined.
Machining a barrel to fit a barrel extension is not much different than fitting a barrel to a receiver. Gas block and port have to be dealt with, but that is no big deal.

As many of you have seen, the NEA102 isn't shipping from NEA with a magazine. If we need to add one later on, I may have to up the price about $30 or so on future presales.

Its not a huge deal because most people will buy a bunch of magazine anyway... BUT who sells a firearm without a magazine seriously ?

Will they eventually come with a magazine or this is how NEA plan on shipping those rifle ?

Already done, and I didnt pre order. Will wait for reviews and:

A) buy the NEA102
B) sell some XCR-M pistol mags and magpul 5/20 on EE

But I never bought a new rifle that didnt come with at least one magazine. Even 500$ norincos and 700$ s&w came with one.

Come on!......just set your mind that the rifle is 1729$ with a mag. I real daycare here sometimes.

Not directed toward you DT741

In that case just let people add one to their order when they buy. It would be the same price anyways... Don't mind the whining. It's a trait exclusively exhibited by children :p

It's too heavy! There's no mag! I missed the pre-order! Now I have to to got the gym to carry 10lbs! It's not lighter than my sub 2000! A week ago it was why hasn't NEA forced the lab to make a decision on it, before that it was why doesn't anyone make an affordable DI 308 rifle. My god people! Ar-10 pattern rifles weigh 8+ pound because of gravity, sorry, mags are plentiful, available at many many LGS's, Maybe they could have made it from helium filled carbon fiber and unobtanium, but then it would be why are these so expensive. A SCAR is 7.7lbs, with a NR barrel probably 8. A BAR is 6lbs 10oz, maybe get one of those if it's too heavy for you, personally a little weight is not a bad thing for a large calibre semi auto. I mean come on it's no heavier than any other ar-10 with the same specs. If they tried to make it super light weight and skimped on durability I would be more upset about that. Sorry, rant complete, depressurizing.

Someone with some sense!

I am sad I missed the pre order though :p

This.

Realistically, I don't WANT a mag with the gun. Chances are it's not one I'll use or like. And rarely does an OEM mag sell on the EE. I was giving away two for the price of postage and no one wanted them. (ASC 5 round 7.62 and .223) If someone is bent out of shape about the 102 having no mag, EMT me 20 bucks and I'll send one to you....
