Nea 102

I've seen videos of the 102 accuracy and it was pretty good.....I personally just don't see any value in being satisfied with 3 or 4 moa rifle at that cost and wouldn't be wasting my money on ammo if thats all it would do.. ..as I said before, just my humble opinion.

I think you're missing the point.
If a rifle shoots 3-4 moa with crap surplus ammo then it should be capable of groups half that size with decent ammo. If you're not willing to spend the money to buy good ammo for your rifle on the days where accuracy is desired then you'll never be happy with any rifle you buy.
When you buy cheap ammo you're seeing the accuracy potential of the ammunition more than the potential of the rifle.

I wouldn't be satisfied with a rifle that can only shoot 3-4 moa either but you have to give it something other than the cheapest ammo you can find if you want accuracy. It's not a problem with the rifle but rather a problem with the ammo when you see poor results from a rifle that should be able to shoot better. Like I said, even the Cadex I just sold couldn't shoot 1 moa with AE 150gr but when I ran some handloads through it they were pretty much all touching at 100 yards. Go buy a corvette and see how it performs on 87 octane, sure it will run but you won't be getting the performance out of it that you would see with premium in the tank.

CR5. ...my point is I wouldn't buy the cheapest ammo if that's all it will do....waste of money IMHO. ....if I just want to plink I'll shoot the sks and 18 cents per round surplus ammo.

Maybe NEA simply gave the lab a 30 day notice. Either classify within 30 days or we see you in court. The fact that the law does not specify a time frame does not make it reasonable for the RCMP to drag their feet and wether they classify as NR or R, NEA is losing sales, lots of people will buy even if R. The law does not specify a lot of things and usually juges get to decide what is reasonable or not in court.

funny, there is no LAW that says you need an FRT for anything, it is only there to classify a gun. however, if challenged, the court will side with the FRT #.

if the RCMP wont release the FRT, maybe someone with balls/cash could get one and then force the courts to make them produce an FRT.

well its been 30 days since NEA said it would be 30 days. what a joke

Are you seriously counting down.. you will be dissapointed. I just check this thread once a month, don't get too involved or you'll be let down.

NEA can only provide updates based on the information they have - no FRT means no progress. I'll check again in a month.

I think they wont get approval for the same reason all AR10's made now don't get approved, and thats because of the ar15 buffer tube and smaller bolt carrier.

They've also said they'll make their announcement on another gun forum.

How can you claim to be the non-restricted model if none of the non-restricted parts fit? They have in there inventory original AR10's that they use for forensic analysts, and that is why the current Armalite got the restricted status.

Go back to post #19 and #20. I believe they are claiming the rifle is a clone of the Armalite AR 102, which is apparently NR.

Regardless, the RCMP will act how they want. They do in regard to many other issues...they clearly need a change of management.
