NEA 7.62x39 Rifle Announced?

I have a 7.62x39 AR built by Citizen Arms and it is incredibly accurate for a x39 rifle. With CA you are paying for a quality build and he guarantees a sub MOA capable weapon. There are some weaknesses in the x39 AR. One being the mags. You need to relieve material from the front of the mag and the feedlips, then they'll work properly. The 2nd issue both myself and buddy with a CA 7.62x39 AR have is broken extractors. Every couple thousand rounds they break.

My x39 AR is my favorite rifle, so I'll try out a 2nd NEA one as soon as they're available. In the past I've been hesitant to buy NEA gear, but it looks like they may have come around.

For cheap ammo it'd be kinda cool but I would take my 300 blackout every day of the week over 7.62x39

But ... Just for discussion sake I wonder if they will be making one it a 12.5 barrel with a 12 inch rail

I think people focus far too much on roll marks and trying to look cool than actually improving their skill set. I wouldn't waste the money on any Canadian made AR as they're either over priced or over priced junk. If you want a grey AR, paint the f**king thing! You should be shooting it, not admiring it.. Just saying.

I agree, but not everyone thinks that way. Some people want to have their cake and eat it too.

Why, 300 and x39 are ballistically identical? If they're in a restricted platform there's no advantage to the 300's greater selection of projectiles and we can't legally run a can up here either. I guess a more reliable feeding magazine is the only upside but 300 is cost prohibitive compared to x39.

Did anyone try one at Urban Tactical's open house? I hear it ran great...over 800 rounds down range at the demo. Any comments fr people there?

I was there, and got to shoot this rifle. It was awesome. I had a hard time with the regular AR's, I found them too compact to be comfortable. Had to really crane my neck to see through the sites properly, just not setup for my build I guess.
It had a redfield scope on it, supposedly worth $1k but I'd buy one in a minute to fit this rifle if I can ever save the money and hide the purchase from my wife's prying eyes.
I put 5 shots in about the size of a quarter standing at 23 yards, it was a real pleasure to shoot.

I was at UT and I tried it twice. It seems quite solid. The bad part was I tried out a para ordinance ar right before the NEA. It was superb but it was $4000 for the setup. You can buy two NEAs for that price. I would not put Norinco and NEA in the same category.

me neither.

One day I'm going to build myself an AR-10 in 7.92mmKurz.

An AR10? The 7.62x33mm Kurz is 1.9" long vs the 2.26" of the .223/5.56. Not sure why you would need the gargantuan AR10/308 design for cartridge smaller than what is used in an AR15. Would be a hella neat build though.

I do plan on getting into the AR market at some point, and I would consider an NEA as I have not heard a single bad word since their opening debacle. They get good reviews and seem to be successfully selling worldwide.

Contact user Hitzy by PM. he has had multiple bad experiences with NEA quite recently.

Handle a NEA 7.5" ar at WSS last week, in 5.56/.223.

Cycling charging handle several times found there were several rough spots or burrs that would cause resistance in the charging handles operation.

Handled a friends bone stock SW MP15 an it had none of said issues and has less then 500 rounds through it.

Now having first hand experience handling an NEA product I firmly stand behind every "bad" thing I've said about them.

The smoothness of a factory norinco AR puts NEA to shame badly, buy them if you want......it's your money not mine.

So you "handled" a 7.5" NEA last week at a store, cycled the charging handle several times and that qualifies as "first hand experience handling an NEA" as well as allows to you to "firmly stand behind every "bad" thing I've said about them."????
I know it shouldn't, but sometimes the stupidity on this site astounds me.

Most my bad statements are related to the ethics of the the company, backed by many of the complaints about prior quality control by NEA.

I cant exactly slap a mag into a a gun at the store and fire away to do a full review but the 7.5 rifle is new production and that one has quality issues, If I were able to do a full tear down on it at the store I'd likely find other issues.

Fact is NEA is still sending out guns to retailers that have quality control issues and that is what I am saying.

Mock me all you want, I'm not the one shipping these crappy guns out.

a little roughness in the charging handle is not a big deal, with use it will all smooth out.... i am interested in a 7.62x39 for the simple cheap AVAILABLE ammo, i would have rather seen them develop a piston upper.... preferably long stroke but the r&d involved with that I am sure is immense and introduces issues of its own.

i am not to happy running norinco .223 and buy american made AE for the most part.... but 7.62x39 norinco would be fine in an ar15 and the norinco 7.62x39 has a great reputation as does the 7.62x51

Sounds really nice - I'd love to see one of these.
