NEA BCL warranty

Sure, I forgot, you know all.

In other words you can't.:d

I think Runningfool makes a good point. They may have been over generous in the past because of some initial QC issues as well as some pretty disastrous PR. They have a pretty clear policy, if they do repairs on rifles gratis that shouldn't be covered under warranty than that's up to them. People will always try and take advantage. They can only do so if you let them.

As for the BCL warranty. They can certainly do what they want but generally warranty info is provided with the product, not on some webpage that I have no reason to visit as a consumer.

To the "doesn't take much imagination", See your second sentence, and the Runningfool scenario.

And your warranty for your BCL 102 came with your rifle, is what you are saying?

Warranties are supposed to cover the buyer against manufacturing defect. It's not a lifetime guarantee against owner stupidity.

Fixed your erroneous blanket statement for you. Hop off the couch and step out into the world someday.

Go to CT, Costco, or many of the other retailers with quite open policies, and see what gets accepted as warranty. Yes, there are warranties that cover stupidity.

Their product, their rule's. Plain and simple. Don't like it? don't buy it.
Word get's around here in Canada, and if they dig their own hole then so be it

Ok just wondering if BCL has taken over NEA then is NEAs warranty now void and does that continue with anything branded NEA. I'd really like to pick up an expensive NEA product that seems every once is now trying to dump on sale. Barrels lowers uppers complete or stripped everything seems to have flooded the market right now and on sale. I was curious about this before I found out about BCL takeover. Am I reading into this to much or should I be cautious to purchase they product before i see BCL printed on it?

bcl didn't necessarily buy nea, they took a bunch of other firearms business they owned, bought a few more and rebranded all the companies under one name, BCL...... NEA warranty is still in full effect.

I don't think it works that way, If BCL patented the 102 as a new rifle then Norinco can not clone it until the patent expires.
If they did clone it then I wouldn't pay more than $700 for it since Norinco has worse QC than BCL and Norinco has no warranty at all other than what the retailer or importer is willing to provide.

For some reason I don't think China gives a rats azz about patents lol.

Now it looks like you're confusing warranty with return policy.

Regardless, read their policies. I'm sure it covers their ass against abuse of goods. If others still choose to cover it than that's on them.

If they're stupid enough to replace than people will absolutely call them on it and use it. How is it abuse?

Quick Update.

I just got my 102 back from BCL today, they "fixed" the under gassing issue by replacing the gas rings. I suspected this but I wasn't 100% sure. I truly hope that this resolves the issues I was experiencing with my first trip to the range. The also exchanged my charging handle as my original one was really crappy and had a lot of sharp edges.

They did test fire it, as it has powder residue in the chamber and the BCG is dirty and shows signs of being fired.

Note: a set of gas rings cost about $15.00. Shipping the rifle to Orillia from Edmonton cost more than double that. So if you are going to mail it back, make sure it is worth your while.

I will be taking it out this weekend to see how it works. Fingers crossed, all issues are now sorted.

Can someone please list out all the known issues?
Just want to see how much of a tinkerer's project it might be before I commit to getting one from a future batch.

Thanks.

The link is useless for the user manual. The link provided I just get the message "Can't Reach This Page". Same for the Cleaning and Care. And no manual for the BCL 102 just the NEA15

For anyone who is interested, here are links to the NEA 15 manuals:

NEA-15 Operations Manual
http://northeasternarms.com/manuals/nea-15_manual_v1.1.pdf

NEA-15 Care & Cleaning Manual
http://www.northeasternarms.com/manuals/nea15_care_and_cleaning_1000.pdf

I haven't found one for the BCL102 yet.

Right from the manual

"Bolt... Replace gas rings every 3000 rounds.
... Apply a light coat of grease to the gas rings and cam pin hole.

Gas ring Fit Test

Check bolt assembly for proper fit with bolt cam pin removed.

Insert bolt into the bolt carrier.

Invert the bolt carrier group and suspend so the bolt assembly is pointed down.

NOTE:
The bolt assembly must not drop out. If weight of bolt assembly allows it to drop out of key and bolt carrier assembly, replace bolt rings.

And where do we source gas rings for the BCL 102?

Wolverine supplies sells ArmaLite and CTC suppliers has DPMS.

Google is your friend....

Yes, but as my rifle is still being made (I hope), I am still unclear which set of rings would work, and for the cost, I'd be happy to have a few sets kicking around.

I may have missed it, but do we know for sure which would fit?

which gas rings fit he bcl192?
armalite or dpms?

for armalite are you talking about this?
https://www.wolverinesupplies.com/productdetail/amlea1055_armalite-ar10-mcfarland-gas-ring

Both types of gas rings will fit. Armalite will be 1 piece macfarland rings. Dpms will be 3 piece rings. Mcfarland tend to be a little more loose than the 3 piece, and can sometimes fail the gas ring test despite still working properly, just fyi.
