Here's my adventure from Sunday:
For starters, I wish I had found my glasses before heading to the range, but this was not the case. That's my story , and I'm sticking to it...
I had some American Eagle 150s, Hirtenberger, Norinco copper washed/steel, South African Ball, and various loads of 168 Hornady over Varget to sample. All loads were with fresh brass, full length sized, CCI primers. trimmed, chamfered, and measuring in at 2.800.
I started with a few rounds of the AE for a warm up, then proceeded to fire 10 round groups at 100.
First Norinco:
American Eagle:
South African Surplus:
Hirtenberger:
37.1 Varget:
39.4 Varget:
40.5 Varget:
41.7 Varget:
42.5 Varget:
I know I could do better, but I was having a good time and running through the rounds pretty fast. I did notice my Pmags had slop to them, and were very sensitive on feeding errors if I held the mag or "mono podded" from them. I had a fair amount of stove pipes as well. I didn't adjust my XCR-M mags before heading out, and they would not work as is.
Then I hit a bit issue. Remember boys and girls, steel cased ammo is not your friend in semis when running fast... I gave up on "load development" (if that's what you call $hit eating grin induced rapid fire), and decided to ring the 300 gong. I loaded up my mags with what I had in volumes - Norinco, and let her fly. I have to say, for bulk ammo it was doing awesome, hell, I just about had the little 10' gong spinning right over and couldn't seem to miss, then stoppage... Empty casing did not extract, and bolt locked forward. I decked the rifle into the ground twice, and in horror, had this as a result:

Good thing I left the factory rear stock on it for this trip.
The bolt did release, and yup, pealed the rim off the stuck round. Not a BCL issue, this was user induced stupidity.
All in all, sweet rifle, with more potential than I have skill. A real hoot to shoot. Now back to cleaning her up for round 2.

Must be a typo. LOL.
