NEA/BLC 102 Reliability

Those of you with a BLC102, is there contact of the bolt carrier on the lower receiver? See pics below, that is what I am observing.

Nothing on mine. But, if the BCG was hitting this area on both sides of the lower, as it heads back into the buttstock, you would think the damage would be MUCH worse? Does the rifle function fine? You could mark the area with a marker, and then fire it to see if the area is hit again which will remove the marker...

My initial gut reaction is, if the rifle functions fine, I can't see it being the BCG hitting that area without serious damage?

The wear ring on the buffer doesn't seem low enough for that. Be interested to see what causes these marks, bcg would have to be at a pretty extreme angle to hit there, could try to make the bcg hit there with the lower removed.

Could it be from a rough spot on the upper rubbing on the lower?

I'd like to make it known that Ryan @ SFRC promptly and easily sent me a replacement BCG for my stovepiping almost every round 102 and she is now running exactly as I'd expect a new rifle to with my bulk load.
Thank you very much sir you've made this little piggy very happy all the way home.

Will be doing some cheapest possible 308 bulk round accuracy testing soon, just need to run a ladder and find what she likes. .38c ea 308 bulk. Yes please.

Just curious, what made you think the BCG was the issue? Mine doesn't do it every round but way more often than I'd like.

It was not ejecting correctly, cycling by hand or firing rounds. Anything I tried, from 125gr to 180gr.
WAS holding the bolt back on empty mag though when required for approx. 100rds.. And then it wasn't, a disassembly showed the back of the gas key had let go on it and that's when I called it quits and called SFRC.

Good on Ryan and SCRC to stand up for BLC.

His business would be pretty much be ruined if he doesn't stand up for NEA/BLC products, most of you guys would eat him alive and social media is extremely powerful !

One can go from hero to zero overnight if people aren't happy with there service...

Anyone with first hand experience reloading for a 308 gas gun able to recommend a good starting load for 155 A-max projectiles? Obviously will be for the BCL 102.

Load will be used for a max of 600m.

I picked up 400 of these A-Max projectiles and some Winchester LR primers and plan on using RL15 and Varget (still trying to source powder locally but will probably be getting ahold of Henry at BSS)

I Have lot of experience loading for 300 win mag and 243 bolt guns as well as 223 AR15's but 308 gas guns are new to me.

Any suggested load recipes are appreciated.

Was out this weekend at CHAS. Probably 200 ish rounds in total on Saturday and Monday.

With the wife and daughter on Monday. Fed it a large amount of Norinco surplus, no issues. Actuall in fact, anything I fed it over the weekend was issue free, with an exception.

On my XCR-M mags, they need an abrupt bump from the bottom, to seat, with the bolt open or closed. I can see that inside, at the front of the magwell, on the upper, that there is contact. If I put in a XCR-M mag, on an open bolt, and hit the bolt release, it will not chamber the first round. If I use the charging handle as a bolt release, it will pick up the first round. Once a round has been chambered and fired, smooth sailing. IMI mag is hard to seat, bolt open or closed, but once it is in, smooth.

I also have to admit, that my daughter on only her second shooting outing, was nailing the steel at 100 (all 4, including the small one) 100% of the time. Her rate of fire was much faster than I thought she would do, but both her and the wife were nailing the steels consistently, with no misses even on the small one. The intent was to just get them out to get a feel for the rifle. HUGE smiles, I may have to buy some more rifles, now.

I know the steels are not a huge challenge, but for one very low experience shooter, and one moderate experience shooter, they both impressed me, given the conditions, and our intentions of just having them do some plinking.

This = current satisfaction level of "very pleased".

My XCR-M mags are hard to seat on a closed bolt. With an open bolt they just click in.

I could not use the bolt release with the XCR-M mags, just as you describe because the bolt release was hitting the left side of the mag spine. I contacted SFRC and...
